University is about academic achievement and so much more. I believe that every student deserves the right to gain confidence, independence and opportunities that will lead to an experience that will change their life. I consider every student experience as individual; however all students should have the chance to take advantage of University life inside and out of the lecture theatre. My aims: ALL students should have access to sporting, social and voluntary opportunities within the University. YOUR VOICE – students should have increased influence on decisions that affect them. Drop in sessions and suggestion boxes will be introduced to increase communication and allow the student voice to be heard. Increase the amount of recreational sports, activities and events available to ALL students, including more flexible sessions for placement students and partner colleges. Increased support and help for ALL clubs and societies, not merely a chosen few. Increased opportunities for students off campus – sporting, social and volunteering events made more accessible to ALL students on and off campus. OUR ARENA - Increasing the opportunities for ALL (including non-sporting students and societies) to take advantage of the Worcester Arena as a facility for training, events, meetings and activities. Introduction of intramural games within halls and societies Welfare – weekly surgery for students to voice their issues and access support. More campaigns and events for mental health and welfare issues. More opportunities for ALL to feel part of a collective identity within the University

Lauren Adams – Geography and Sports Studies My name is Lauren Adams and I am a current third year Sports Studies and Geography student. I believe that all students should have an equal opportunity to participate in activities at the university such as sport, societies and volunteering to help enhance their

student experience and help them to develop further whilst enjoying themselves. If elected, I want to: Liaise with the university to ensure Wednesday afternoons are free for ALL STUDENTS to compete in sporting activities. Provide continuing support for sports/societies to ensure their club runs efficiently. Encourage interaction with all clubs so they can gain maximum information, advice and support from the SU, ensuring effective running of their club. Integration of sports and societies within the SU by providing joint events. Provide more volunteering opportunities both in and outside the university to develop skills and build links with the wider community. Use the opinions of students to help improve the range of activities available and introduce new activities to increase participation in both sports and societies. I particularly want to work with under-represented groups at the university to encourage integration and participation within all aspects of university life. Continue to build and offer more to students living off-campus by interacting at city campus to encourage integration. Respond to issues in an appropriate timeframe and demonstrate flexibility towards students. Work with the university, particularly welfare and finance, to promote support for students and help support them through events related to particular matters such as mental health and LGBT.
