G N I R E E T N VOLU Volunteering is all about learning new skills, gaining new experiences and meeting new people. Volunteering can also increase your employability whilst all the time you’re having fun! We offer students loads of opportunities to get involved with volunteering. Whether in the SU itself or with a local charity, or even with an organisation abroad we will recognise the hours you volunteer and award you for your efforts. HELP & ADVICE The Students’ Union provides a free, independent, confidential and impartial advice service to all students at the University of Worcester. Our Student Advisors are available to advise students regarding academic, disciplinary and housing issues. For more information go to: www.worcsu.com/helpandadvice

STUDENT ACADEMIC REPRESENTATIVES Your course will need at least two elected StARs. They feed back what you do and don’t like about your course and help make changes to your academic studies for the better. Your StAR is your first point of contact for course related issues. SPORTS Whether you’re coming to University as a regular sports player or wanting to try something new we have the sport for you. Join a club competing in BUCS (the British Universities and Colleges Sport) or play for fun. What if I play a sport and there’s no club for it? s e i t e i soc Do you have a hobby or interest you’d like to share with other students? Chances are we have a student run society that you’d be interested in. Being part of a society helps you meet new people, gain confidence, get further academic support and socialise with other students with the same interests. The hub of student social activity on campus. Enjoy student prices and relax in the daytime with a coffee or enjoy the lively night-time atmosphere with events such as Karaoke, Quizzes or Big Screen Sport. The Pear Tree is a space where students can create their own events, for example for Societies or Sports Club social nights or charity fundraising events.
