The Vital Role of Academ ic Research in Ad ap t ing t o Recent Nat ional Sp or t Policy Chang es by Verity Postlethwaite PhD Student
Sp or t , recreat ion and p hysical act ivit y has so m uch p otent ial in t he im m ed iate fut ure, and cr ucially it is b eing b acked wit h invest m ent , sup p or t and infrastr uct ure. In m y opinion t his is not t he funct ion of an academ ic. Collab orat ion wit h academ ic research has a wider role and can rang e from : for m ing q uest ions, fram ing research, creat ing or test ing a t ool, up skilling w or kforces, and d issem inat ing knowled g e.
