Chantal Vinyard – Manifesto for Women’s Officer
Hi, my name is Chantal Vinyard and I am a full time Psychology student in my first year. I am Chairperson of the Mature Students Society and Treasurer of the Students Psychology Society, I am also a StAR and Student Councillor. I’d love to represent the women of the UoW and make sure our voice is heard! As Women’s Officer I intend to: Introduce and promote a zero tolerance policy to sexual harassment on campus One in seven women students has experienced a serious physical or sexual assault during their time as a student (NUS). Women have the right to feel safe and secure, without fear of harassment or intimidation, while at the University and its facilities. As Women’s Officer I will campaign for students to have a safe, confidential means of reporting sexual harassment, and information on accessing support services. To ensure that women are treated equally and fairly - in their academic studies, sports, activities, halls, and off campus. I want to make sure that women have the same opportunities as their male counterparts in all areas of student life, lack of time, resources or opportunities should not be barriers. I will campaign for women’s inclusion, representation and welfare. To encourage and support women to pursue and achieve their goals As Women’s Officer I want to develop an environment of equality I will use my enthusiasm, determination and empathy to motivate and encourage other women to achieve their full potential. Vote Chantal Vinyard #1 for Women’s Officer! Thanks
