Local Schools
Where our children spend most of their week and how they are being educated is a decision which takes some serious consideration. We have put together a list of suggestions to make your life a little easier. Many local schools and nurseries offer free tours so you can go and visit your choice options before making that final important decision.
Brighton College At Brighton College, we focus first on the thing that matters most – your personal happiness. We know you flourish when you are treated with love, kindness, and respect. So, we celebrate the uniqueness of every individual, whether that person be shy or confident, sporty, scholarly or both. We want pupils to be true to themselves, happy in their own skins and kind to one another. As The Sunday Times commented in 2019: “The currency at Brighton is kindness, pure and simple”. Roedean School The girls perform exceptionally well academically, with every girl achieving her best. Their successes are the result of their curiosity and intellectual engagement, as well as their developing selfconfidence and maturity. Making learning exciting and memorable lies at the heart of a Roedean education. However, academic results are not the sole success criteria: along with other girls aged from 11 to 18, many from Sussex and London, and others from over thirty different countries, you will enjoy a holistic education, and be inspired as much by the world outside the classroom as the world within it. At Roedean, every aspect of school life complements the others, and it is precisely this rounded education which produces independent and creative young women who will make their mark in the world. Numbers of girls at the school have risen rapidly, now constituting over 40% of the school’s numbers, a result of the fully coeducational ethos embraced. The majority of pupils go on to achieve considerable success at Brighton College, or at one of the other leading public schools in Sussex. 33 New Church Road, Hove, East Sussex, BN3 4AD. 01273 735404 www.stchristophershove.org.uk/
