Interview with Tania Azadian Interiors

Tania, Can you tell us a little of the background you have in Interior Design ? Having graduating in 2003 from Kingston University with a degree in Landscape Architecture and with a growing passion for interior design I wanted to explore that avenue and was lucky enough to land an internship with globally renowned interior designer Kelly Hoppen. After 3 months as an intern, a job vacancy opened up and I didn’t look back working with Kelly on luxury high-end residential and commercial projects worldwide working my way up and becoming a Senior designer in the company. After 12 years working for Kelly Hoppen I moved on and established my company Tania Azadian Interiors in January 2016.

How would you describe your design style? My interior design style is contemporary yet comfortable with an elegant and refined touch. I like to add visual interest to my interiors by layering different materials and textures and including design detail is key to my work.

What design services do you offer? We are passionate about providing a professional, personal tailor-made design service, working closely with the client to create the perfect space that is individual to each of their needs, requirements and expectations. I design and oversee each project from concept right through to completion, ensuring the utmost attention to detail and personally delivering a high end, high quality bespoke turn key interior. Each project is personalised and may require some of the following: Initial consultation & site visit Concept design Internal furniture layouts & space planning Sample boards and visuals Specification of hard finishes (floors, walls, woodwork etc) FF&E design, specification and procurement (furniture, soft furnishings, window treatments, decorative lighting etc) Bespoke joinery design Lighting layouts Kitchen and bathroom design Putting together a detailed design package for contractors Liaising with contractors during construction including site visits Art & accessories sourcing, specification & procurement Turnkey installation

What is your design process for projects and how do you work with your clients? The starting point of our interior design projects is to understand our clients brief and learn everything about them - their lifestyle, preferences, personal tastes, likes and dislikes, their needs and wishes. To support this, we also encourage our clients to gather tear sheets from magazines or online sources and create Pinterest boards to share. We pull all this information together and create concept boards for the client to approve so a creative direction is agreed on before moving to the more detailed design where it is developed and refined.

What projects are you currently working on? We are currently working on residential projects in Cobham, Earlsfield and Wimbledon requiring full kitchen and bathroom designs, bespoke joinery, lighting design, furniture and soft furnishing specifications through to the final details of accessories and artwork. We have access and close working relationships with an unparalleled network of world-renowned furniture and fabric suppliers and contractors ensuring only the best for our clients.
