Main Attractions The Punta Uvita tombolo , is a unique geological formation caused by the deposition of sands and terrestrial biological origin that are integrated with a string of rock that is mostly submerged. At low tide, it forms a path to the sea of 1 km, which from the air resembles a whale's tail. A walk not to be missed. Whale Island and Three Sisters , are part of the park's rock formations at depths from 6 to 20 meters, becoming the home to several species such as lobsters, barracudas, among others. Also, this place is important for nesting seabirds and reptiles, such as penguins Pardos (S ula leucogaster ), the Ibis Garza ( Eudocimus albus ), and the green iguana (Iguana iguana). Coral Reef Park has 18 species of coral, second in diversity in the Pacific in the country. The NĂşcura ( Porites lobata) is the most abundant, here you can see other partners like the Hunchback Parrotfish ( Scarus Perricos ) , butterfly fish ( Chaetodon humeralis ) , White-tailed Surgeon (Acanthurus xanthopterus ) , the drum ( Diodon holocanthus) , Lobsters, Starfish and Sea Fans When diving you can see the White Shark and Shark Fin Cat. Mangroves , the park has several mangrove forests bordering the rivers flowing to the sea, in estuaries can see small fish, crabs and enjoy the salt water. Bar Jolly Rodgers is a phenomenon. The place is hopping, fun, and the burgers, chicken wings and ceasar salads are top notch. I'm not just saying this. The chicken wings that I've had at Jolly Rodgers are the best I've ever had. Saturday night is poker night, and so things start getting ramped up at around 8:00-ish. Getting There: Head south from Dominical or north from Uvita. When you see the entrance to Cuna Del Angel on the ocean side of the highway, you'll see a road across from Cuna going up the hill. There is even a Jolly Rodgers sign there. Drive up that 4 wheel drive road. You'll see the sign to Jolly Rodgers about 5 minutes up on your left.
