Registration

Registration and Dropping a Class Registration, confirmation, and dropping a class are all handled within the Duke Learning Management System (LMS) accessible through the Duke@Work self-service website by clicking on “MyInfo,” then “MyCareer,” and finally “MyLearning.” You can go directly to the Duke LMS or create a favorite link by using the following address in your browser: https://vmw-lmsweb.duhs.duke.edu/SabaLogin For specific instructions and job aids on using the Duke LMS, see: http://www.hr.duke.edu/training/location/lms/index.php If you registered for a class but can no longer attend, please drop the class using the LMS. “Drop” is the terminology in the LMS rather than “cancel.” Note that most L&OD classes only allow you to drop them up to three days before the class date.

The Waitlist L&OD strongly recommends using the waitlist in the LMS. If someone drops the class, the individuals on the waitlist are offered the seat in the order in which they were put on the list.

Payment Information Payment information is required for classes that have a fee. Many departments can provide time off and/or funds to cover the cost of job-related training. Please check with your supervisor. In your confirmation notice, you will be prompted to provide L&OD with a cost object number (7 digits for campus and 9 digits for the health system). If you prefer to pay for the class yourself rather than charge it to a Duke cost center code, you must pay with a check or money order made out for the exact amount to “Duke Learning & Organization Development.” We are not able to accept cash or credit/debit cards. Please pay at L&OD’s offices at 402/406 Oregon Street no later than five business days before the class date.

Cancellation/No Show Policy Enrollment closes for L&OD classes three business days before the class date. If you drop the class after enrollment closes, the full class fee is processed as a cancellation fee. If you do not attend the class and did not drop it at least three business days before the class date, the full class fee is processed as a no-show fee. Emergency exceptions are at the discretion of L&OD.

Fees The initial consultation is provided at no cost to you. After our consultation, if you decide to engage our services, our fee is $150 per hour. Although we are a fee-for-service operation, as an internal department serving the greater Duke community, our fees are priced well below market value as compared to external providers offering similar services. In addition, you will benefit from working with professionals who are not only well-versed in the field of Organizational Development and Effectiveness, but also familiar with the operation of higher education and health systems.
