6th WORLD CONFERENCE: a moment to experience together

rom 25th to 30th October all Radio Maria antennas will be virtually pointed at Collevalenza (Perugia), a small Italian village, home to the Shrine of Merciful Love of Blessed Maria Esperanza, which will host the Radio Maria WORLD CONFERENCE for the fourth time. Over 250 delegates from the five continents will meet to experience moments of strong spirituality and intense work, to build together the future of Radio Maria and define the programmatic objectives for the next three-year period. ganizational management, training, technology, territorial promotion and listener involvement will be the main themes tackled on the October dates, which will end with the private Audience with Pope Francis in the Vatican and the World Family General Assembly. The underlying theme of each event will be the real and deep sharing of the experiences and fruits of evangelization which Radio Maria carries out on a daily basis. We have chosen “With Mary on the streets of the world” as our slogan. During this Conference, to use Father Livio Fanzaga’s words, “we wish to discover the beauty of Radio Maria, which the Holy Virgin has donated to

6th Radio Maria World Conference Dear friends, The 6th Radio Maria World Conference will be held in the last week of October in Collevalenza, the burial place of Blessed Maria Esperanza. Delegations from the 74 Radio Maria stations, which are operating throughout the five contents, will attend: Europe 26; America 23; Africa 19; Asia-Oceania 5+ 1 twinning. Six delegations of radios, which are still at the planning phase, will also take part: Latvia, Guinea Conakry, Liberia, Ghana, Benin, Web Radio Mariam (in Arabic). In all, 80 delegations that bear witness to the extraordinary spread of Radio Maria worldwide in less than three decades. The proceedings will be focused on deepening the identity of Radio Maria, as a Marian radio station of

letter we present the important document which outlines the essential and inalienable traits of each Radio Maria station and which all stations must comply with. The highlight of the conference will be the Special Audience with Pope Francis on Thursday 29th October at 12 when he will meet all the Radio Maria delegates in the Clementine Hall in the Vatican. We thank the Holy Father from now for this gesture of kindness
which gives us great comfort and encouragement. The meeting with the Pope will be preceded by the Holy Mass at 9 in St. Peter’s Basilica, and concelebrated by all the Priests-Directors. You can listen to both the Audience and the Holy Mass live on Radio Maria. Let us all joyfully participate in this important event. It is a moment of great celebration for all the Radio Maria family. Place and mission of the Conference in the life of the World Family of Radio Maria
S
ince its foundation in 1998, the World Family of Radio Maria, composed of Radio Maria stations present throughout the five continents and associated to the World Family, has met every three years, as required by the statute, at a conference attended by the President and the Director of each radio station. Such event not only allows to comply with the Statute previewing the renewal of

the governing body, but also to continue tightening and strengthening bonds of brotherhood among all those who share this Marian mission, through moments of common prayer: a budget of what has been achieved so far and reflections of the Community on the prospects proposed to the members of the Congress by the President and the Director of the World Family.
It is an opportunity to celebrate our unity with the Mother of Jesus, as if it were a small Pentecost, through the sharing of spiritual, cultural and material goods, understanding what the Holy Spirit tells us for the announcing of the Good News of the Gospel worldwide. The 6th Radio Maria World
Conference, which will be held in the last week of October, this year, with the slogan “With Mary on the streets of the world”, will focus on the tools and resources put in our hands by the Providence to face challenges of today’s evangelization. Fr. Francisco Palacios
