Ocean Restaurant VILA VITA Parc Resort & Spa, Porches - PORTUGAL Created 13 years ago and located at VILA VITA Parc Resort & Spa, Ocean restaurant offers spectacular Atlantic views and the perfect combination of sublime food, seamless service and an atmosphere of casual elegance, with Portuguese gastronomic authenticity at its heart. Following an integral transformation, the restaurant reopened its doors in Spring 2017. Murano hanging crystals line the entrance, guiding diners into the room where a natural palette of colours evokes the deep blue of the sea, the sky and the golden sands of the Algarve. Ocean won its first Michelin star in November 2009, followed in November 2011 by its second star.

Enjoy delightful and awarded fine dining under palm trees at the “EMPIRE” Restaurant, situated right in the “Hotel Victory Therme Erding” and part of the Therme Erding, the world’s largest spa and water fun-park, on the outskirts of Munich. Head Chef Elisabeth Englert and her team create contemporary dishes of the highest quality, made with the best ingredients, mainly sourced at local dealers, with a strong focus on seasonal availability. Elisabeth Englert can look back on year’s long experience at some of the best restaurants (e.g. the famous Michelin Star awarded “Käfer Schenke” in Munich) but meanwhile has created her own signature dishes which satisfy even the experienced gourmet. Her menus go very well along with the selection of wines, carefully selected by Maitré d´, Anett Pflügler, who attained her wine and service knowledge during her years at Michelin Star awarded “Königshof” Restaurant. This is dinner at A’la Turka. Walking through A’la Turka’s huge doors set in castle atop a hill, one is instantly transported to the extremely powerful and wealthy sixteenth century Ottoman Empire, leaving behind a 21st century Irene. The décor and ambience of the restaurant is exactly what one might expect if in past lives given the chance to walk into the palace of some great Mediterranean emperor. Antique knife sets, coins and jewellery, framed in wooden cases, adorn the walls. Immaculately designed light fittings cast strange shadows onto the walls, with Persian carpets and pillows scattered on the floors around low tables. The ambience is absolutely breath-taking, and immediately sets a person on auto-pleasure mode. The early Ottoman’s believed in the value of having guests over, and they relished in sharing food and conversation around the table. Food was then not about filling up, but more about the experience of togetherness and well-being, a practice of gratitude for good fortune. Gokhan and Vannessa Hacisuleyman, owners of A’la Turka, have captured the ancient essence of hosting perfectly. Friendly service and great food makes for easy, patient enjoyment of a truly emotional experience. From the handcrafted benches to the antique Ottoman Empire taps in the bathrooms, authenticity is a virtue not easily faked.
