Influencer marketing is quickly becoming a major part of the social marketing strategies for many marketers and agencies a like. With digital marketing spend increasing every year, more and more dollars are being devoted to influencer marketing programs due to their potential for significant ROI yields with often less resources. The value of influencer marketing is undeniable and no matter the size, resources, or sophistication, of a marketer or agency, all should be considering integrating an influencer marketing strategy into their social plans, even if their just beginning. The prospect of being able to reach consumers, inside and outside your traditional audience, in engaging ways, and through trusted voices is value that can’t be found through many if any other forms of social media marketing.

This could not be more evident in the global golf market, brands and destinations are more than comforatble when it comes to sponsorship and generic advertising strategies, but the role of the golf social influencer is now at a stage where this too must be considered par for the course.

According to market research the global golf equipment market will grow steadily reach almost $6Billion by 2020. With the substantial growth of the golf tourism industry, the golf equipment market is anticipated to have a positive outlook in the coming years. There has been an influx of new regions that adopt golf as a sport; for instance, the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) and Caribbean countries have become popular for golf tourism due to the availability of state-of-the-art facilities. These countries will invest heavily in infrastructural enhancements pertaining to the game and host many international golf events and competitions. Some of the popular events include the Dubai Desert Classic, the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship, and the Qatar Masters. Moreover, the growing demand for golf tours will also lead to a rise in the prices for golf package, which will, in turn, contribute to this market’s growth in the coming years.

Influencers are now dictating where to play, what to be seen in, and more importantly, what equipment to use from clubs to balls and the Golf and tourism markets are waking to to his, albeit slowly but surely.
