Together, pointing the way forward!
In order to achieve this effectively we need to analyze the realities of a rapidly changing society.
“to contribute to the education of young people, through a value system based on the Scout Promise and Law, to help build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society.”
• What kind of skills do young people need in the 21st century to make an impact in their local community?

As one of the leading movements in the field of non-formal education, Scouting’s Mission is:
• What challenges do they face? • What support should we offer? This is the aim of the World Scout Education Congress: to look both inside and outside of our Movement and reflect on the education we need to provide to young people.

We will put much effort into making the World Scout Education Congress available online. The event’s website worldscouteducationcongress.org will act as the central point where you can choose from various means to contribute to the Congress: livestreaming, social media, blogging… It will bring together all those strands and give a full overview of everything that is happening, on site and online, during the Congress. We truly aim that as many participants as possible can participate in the Word Scout Education Congress from anywhere in the world.

Cheung Chi-Sun,
Chief Commissioner Scout Association of Hong Kong “The Congress should open our mind in seeing what we can do more - or changes we can bring - so that Scouting can deliver an even better service to young people worldwide”
Eduard Vallory,
Visiting Scholar, NYU, and author of the book “World Scouting” ‘‘Scouting has been able for decades and in very different societies to contribute empowering individuals to fulfill their potential and to become change agents. But societies have evolved, as girls and boys have: that is why the new educational challenges the Movement face all over the world should be discussed’’.

Juho Toivola,
Director Roverway 2012 Finland (Regional Event for Rover Scouts), potential WSEC participant ‘‘It’s a good time to reflect on what Scouting has reached as an educational movement and how we will deal with the challenges that the future brings. Scouting has limitless potential in reaching the young people of the world. With relevant education we will utilize this potential in the best possible manner - for societies and for the world’’.
