However, despite the fact that many face-to-face activities have resumed, we still continue with virtual activities, that during the pandemic were growing in quantity and above all in quality. DEAR BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN SCOUTING, Little by little we have been recovering from the very prolonged pandemic, suffered by our world. We have been pleased to note that the number of face-to-face activities in Scouting are on the rise. We have witnessed how many young people have been reintegrating or joining Scouting for the first time. We have great hope that our movement is gaining more strength than ever, that our Youth Programme continues to be an innovative and useful proposal for millions of young people in our region and around the world.
We recently held several virtual events in our Interamerican Region, including: Interamerican Networks Meeting, Youth Programme Workshop and Sustainability Forum. Each of these activities allowed people from many National Scout Organizations in our region to share moments full of knowledge, exchange of ideas and good practices among the participants and the fraternity and joy that distinguishes our region.
Poco a poco nos hemos ido recuperando de la muy prolongada pandemia que ha sufrido nuestro mundo. Hemos observado con alegría cómo las actividades scouts presenciales van en aumento. Hemos sido testigos de cómo muchos jóvenes se han ido reintegrando o integrando por primera vez al Movimiento Scout. Tenemos la gran esperanza de que nuestro movimiento está tomando más fuerza que siempre, que nuestro Programa de Jóvenes sigue siendo una propuesta innovadora y útil para millones de jóvenes en nuestra región y en todo el mundo. Sin embargo, a pesar de que muchas actividades presenciales han comenzado a organizarse, aún continuamos con actividades virtuales que durante la pandemia fueron creciendo en cantidad y sobre todo en calidad. Estas actividades virtuales siguen permitiendo a mucha gente conectarse a través de los medios electrónicos y así obtener aprendizajes valiosos, además de compartir sus experiencias con los Recientementedemás. tuvimos diversos eventos virtuales en nuestra Región Interamericana, entre ellos: Reunión de las Redes Interamericanas, Taller de Programa de Jóvenes y Foro de Sustentabilidad. Cada una de estas actividades permitió que gente, proveniente de muchas Organizaciones Scouts Nacionales de nuestra región compartieran momentos llenos de obtención de conocimientos, de intercambio de ideas y buenas prácticas entre los participantes y de la fraternidad y la alegría que distingue a nuestra región.

La reunión regional de redes es un espacio de interacción clave para la Región Interamericana. En esta reunión convergen los representantes de las Organizaciones Scouts Nacionales en las área de: jóvenes, programa de jóvenes, desarrollo institucional, adultos en el Movimiento Scout y comunicaciones. Este año 2022 se reunieron una vez más para aportar al Plan Regional que se encuentra en construcción. La agenda de la reunión de redes se centró en el análisis de los KPI (Indicadores de cumplimiento) y actividades para el nuevo Plan The regional network meeting is a key interaction place for the Interamerican Region. In this meeting the representatives of the National Scout Organizations converge in the areas of: Youth, Youth Programme, Institutional Development, Adults in Scouting and Communications. This year 2022 they met once again to contribute to the Regional Plan that is under construction. The agenda of the network meeting focused on the analysis of the KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and activities for the new Regional Plan 20222025. In addition to focusing Regional 2022-2025. One of the important topics during the meeting was to stress the importance of Safe from Harm, its implementation, and its actions as part of the commitment to young people in Scouting. It is vitally important to create a safe space for the youth of the Interamerican Region every day.

Elintercambio.tallerestuvo conformado por 7 bloques temáticos; en cada bloque temático se ofrecieron 4 sesiones dirigidas a las personas que desempeñan funciones en los diferentes niveles de la OSN. Los temas abordados fueron: Contexto internacional del Programa de Jóvenes; La tecnología en el Programa de Jóvenes, cómo aprovechar sus potencialidades; Llegar a todos, un Programa diverso e inclusivo; Mantener a los jóvenes a salvo del peligro, una responsabilidad compartida; Dinamizando el Programa de Jóvenes, algunas propuestas para atraer y retener a los jóvenes; Impactando a la comunidad, el Programa de Jóvenes en acción; y Fundamentos educativos del Movimiento Scout.
The objectives of the workshop include: identifying current trends in the Youth Programme, acquiring knowledge and best practices to implement global and regional priorities, analyzing experiences generated at the regional level in the use of virtual environments to strengthen the delivery of the Youth Programme, as well as generating spaces for interaction and exchange.
Las sesiones fueron coordinadas por facilitadores con gran conocimiento y experiencia en cada una de las temáticas. Se contó con la participación de facilitadores de diversos países de la Región y de otras regiones scouts. Cabe destacar la presencia de Carla Simoens, directora mundial de Programa de Jóvenes, quien moderó el panel inicial interactuando con los responsables del Programa en las regiones Asia-Pacífico, Árabe, Europea, y un representante de la región Eurasia; la interesante sesión ofrecida por Olimpiadas Especiales Latinoamérica, socio estratégico de la región; y la gran charla de Joao Armando Gonçalves, expresidente del Comité Scout Mundial.

With the intention of contributing to the process of developing competencies in adults at the different levels of the National Scout Organizations (local, intermediate and national level), the Regional Youth Programme Workshop 2022 was held on March 26 and 27, 2022 in virtual mode. This was the first Programme Workshop open to all adult members of the NSOs of the Interamerican Scout Region who perform functions linked to the Youth Programme and who seek to acquire new learning and experiences in a process of continuous improvement.
The workshop consisted of 7 thematic blocks; in each thematic block, 4 sessions were offered to people who perform functions at the different levels of the NSO. The topics addressed were: International context of the Youth Programme; Technology in the Youth Programme, how to take advantage of its potential; Reaching out to all, a diverse and inclusive Program; Keeping young people safe from danger, a shared responsibility; Energizing the Youth Program, some proposals to attract and retain young people; Impacting the community, the Youth Program in action; and Educational foundations of Scouting. The sessions were coordinated by facilitators with great knowledge and experience in each of the topics. Facilitators from various countries of the Region and from other scout regions participated. The presence of Carla Simoens, global director of the Youth Programme, who moderated the initial panel, interacting with those responsible for the Programme in the Asia-Pacific, Arab and European regions, and a representative from the Eurasia region; and the interesting session offered by Special Olympics Latin America, a strategic partner in the region, strategic partner of the region; and the great talk by Joao Armando Gonçalves, former chairperson of the World Scout Committee.

Es tanto el impacto, que muchos de nosotros no sabríamos cómo recibir a un joven en una actividad, comenzando por no saber cómo preguntarle su nombre, limitando así su entrada al Movimiento Scout. Y es que, entender el entorno y vivencias de esta comunidad ha sido todo un reto para nosotros.

En-señas para cada uno de nosotros significa, poder conectar los valores scouts con todos los jóvenes del mundo. Que el idioma no es una barrera y que los Scouts estamos siempre dispuestos a servir a todos aquellos que necesitan de nuestro apoyo para que su voz sea escuchada.
Por esta razón nace el proyecto En-señas, que busca empoderar a todos los jóvenes en el área knowledge. For this reason, the En-Señas project was born, which seeks to empower all young people in the social area, to promote the learning of Venezuelan Sign Language, along with the reflection of the good treatment that should exist between people, the importance of communication in our environments and recognizing how diverse our world is.

En-Señas (In-signs) for each one of us means, to be able to connect the scout values with all the young people in the world, the language is not a barrier and the Scouts are always prepared to serve all those who need our support to make their voice heard. In Venezuela, it is estimated that there are 50,000 people with hearing disabilities, either acquired from their born or at some period throughout their lives. Unfortunately, there has never been in Venezuela a culture of basic understanding over sign language and hearing impairment, or a social awareness about them, thus creating limitations for effective communication. From each of our communities we have been facing hearing impairment, encountering situations of frustration when working with a deaf person, and not being able to ask her/ him how they are doing, because we don’t share a common language. Not being able to understand when they want to express an idea or emotion just because of their lack of desconocimiento. Así también, compartiendo las vivencias de conocidos, amigos o familiares que se han visto en la tarea de ser intérpretes de sus seres queridos porque pocos a su alrededor se molestan por querer intentar aprenderla, haciéndolos sentir aún más excluidos.

En Venezuela, se estima que existe una cantidad de 50.000 personas con discapacidad auditiva, ya sea adquirida desde el nacimiento o en alguna etapa a lo largo de su vida. Lastimosamente, nunca ha existido en la cultura venezolana un manejo básico en lo que respecta a la lengua de señas y la discapacidad auditiva, o una conciencia social sobre ellas, creando así limitantes para una comunicación

4. The culture of peace, promoting spaces of peace for the healthy coexistence of communities.
• Y por último, el objetivo 16: “Paz, justicia e instituciones sólidas”, al promover sociedades pacíficas e inclusivas para un Desarrollo Sostenible, velando por la justicia para todos y la construcción de instituciones eficaces y responsables en todos los niveles. Las actividades de En-Señas iniciaron de forma presencial en el año 2020. Al caer la pandemia y a su vez la cuarentena decidimos no tomarlo como un impedimento, puesto que utilizamos las plataformas digitales y medios virtuales. Hemos logrado llevar el mensaje de la lengua de señas con herramientas como: forochats, talleres prácticos, webinars, entrevistas en medios de comunicación convencionales e internet. Se han visto involucradas personas scouts y no scouts tanto dentro como fuera de Venezuela, de todas las edades y profesiones. A través de ellas buscamos apoyar en donde vemos la necesidad y las ganas de aprender.
En-señas tiene entre sus enfoques:
• Through raising awareness and obtaining tools to optimize communication and provide a more empathetic coexistence with the deaf community we are supporting goal 10, “Reducing inequalities”.
En-Señas has among its focuses:
1. Empoderar a los jóvenes en base a sus intereses, con respecto a las necesidades que tiene su entorno en cuanto a la inclusión de la comunidad sorda.
2. The acquisition of skills and competencies for learning and acquiring new skills in a selftaught way.
En-Señas activities began in person in 2020. When the pandemic hit and the quarantine started, we decided not to take it as an impediment, we use digital platforms and virtual media. We have managed to carry the message of sign language with tools such as: forum chats, workshops, webinars, interviews in conventional media and the internet. We have brought closer scouts and non-scouts both inside and outside Venezuela, of all ages and professions. Through them we seek to support where we see the need and desire to learn.
3. Diversity and inclusion that seeks to interrelate deaf people with hearing people.

El Foro se realizó en modalidad virtual y estuvo dirigido a representantes de las Organizaciones Scouts Nacionales que conforman la Región Scout Interamericana, principalmente a miembros de los equipos nacionales de Métodos Educativos, Programa de Jóvenes, Mundo Mejor / Earth Tribe y jóvenes representantes de las Redes Nacionales de Jóvenes / Foros Nacionales de Jóvenes.
Los días 4 y 5 de junio de 2022 se realizó el Foro Interamericano de Educación para la Sostenibilidad 2022.
Este evento busca contribuir al cumplimiento de la resolución 2021-08 de la 42ª. Conferencia Scout Mundial: Fortalecimiento de la sostenibilidad ambiental de la OMMS. El Foro fue un primer espacio de análisis y reflexión sobre la Sostenibilidad en la Región Scout Interamericana, y tuvo como objetivos: incrementar la conciencia sobre los desafíos del The Interamerican Forum on Education for Sustainability
2022 was held on June 4th5th, 2022. This event seeks to contribute to the fulfillment of the resolution 2021-08 of the 42nd World Scout Conference: Strengthening WOSM’s environmental sustainability. The Forum was the first space for analysis and reflection on Sustainability in the Interamerican Scout Region, and the objectives were: to increase awareness of the challenges of sustainable development; to contribute to the implementation of desarrollo sostenible; coadyuvar a la implementación de la resolución 202108 Fortalecimiento de la sostenibilidad ambiental de la OMMS; y difundir elementos de la estrategia de la OMMS para la sostenibilidad ambiental.
The Forum was held virtually and was targeted at representatives of the National Scout Organizations that make up the Interamerican Scout Region, mainly members of the national teams of Educational Methods, Youth Programme, Better World / Earth Tribe and young representatives of the National Youth Networks / National Youth Forums. The team of facilitators was made up of scouts from different countries as well as external experts. Among the institutions that contributed their knowledge and experience were: Distinguished Conservation Service Award Programme, and Florida Sea Base of the Boy Scouts of America; World Animal Protection; WWF Paraguay; Reforestamos México; Peace and justice Team from Girl Guides and Scouts of Chile. Experts in different areas of sustainability also participated in the event.
