LEAP into learning

Think critically and LEAP into learning

LEAP (Learning through Exploring and Actively Participating) is our own unique and powerful learning tool that puts our learning-by-doing philosophy into action on every program. In practice, LEAP translates into hands-on activities and personal reflection prompts.

Through LEAP activities, our students participate in live history debates, dramatic skits, dance classes, and much more: a revolutionary role-play in Spain, a hand-painted masterpiece, a local cooking class with friends.

Connecting travel to the classroom

From designing WorldStrides’ coursework to delivering thoughprovoking workshops for teachers (and much, much more), our Curriculum and Academics team stands at the intersection of travel and learning, guiding student travelers toward scholarship, personal growth, and new areas of discovery.

High school credit

Students in grades 6-12 are eligible to enroll in an online course to earn high school credit in conjunction with their travel program at no additional cost. Most assignments are designed to be completed after travel, since they ask students to incorporate much of what they learned during the field experience. Courses vary in theme, content, and length based on the travel destination.

College credit

WorldStrides travelers can turn their travel experience into a benefit that stays with them long after they’ve returned home by completing our college coursework, offered in partnership with George Mason University. This achievement distinguishes them as online learners and gives them a jump-start on their path to a successful higher education experience.

WorldStrides believes in a shared duty to be socially, environmentally, and ethically responsible. Learn more about our DEI and sustainability initiatives at worldstrides.com/about/corporate-responsibility.
