? The last issue of our World WonHwaDo magazine is about two years back. In 2017, the last magazine appeared. And so, for many of you, the question surely arises - where were you? When we launched our magazine in 2014, we knew that this would not be an easy path. A magazine that will appear several times a year and report on the activities of Korean martial arts. Again and again we have called on Facebook and via e-mail to submit pictures, reports, stories, travelogues, questions, etc. Unfortunately, we found that willingness to support is very sporadic. But this also results in our break, as we did not receive any submissions. How should it continue? We definitely want to continue the World WonHwaDo magazine and we hope to continue your support. It is up to you dear WonHwaDoin to design this journal. So that the next issue does not appear again in two years, we will replace missing contributions with editorial contributions. Because nobody likes a magazine with white pages. We hope you enjoy reading this issue and are looking forward to your feedback. editor in chief Lutz Winter

구인사 The Guinsa Temple Temple of Salvation and Kindness KOREA ... the land of the dawn by Jens Wilke In this article I would like to introduce you to one of the most beautiful temples of Korea for me; Guinsa Temple near Danyang in ChungcheongbukDo Province. This picturesque temple winds up in a valley up Mount Sonbaeksan. The increase from the parking

places takes about 20 minutes and goes steeply uphill. But you can also get up from a shuttle. Who has made the way can really look forward to a unique temple. The temple complex is the headquarters of the Korean Buddhist Order Cheontae. From here, another approximately

140 temples of the Order are headed in Korea. The temple complex consists of many buildings and winds across several levels up to the main hall with its 5 floors, making it one of the largest in Korea. It can sleep up to 10000 monks and even more people are served if needed.

Speaking of tasting - every visitor in this temple can get a free meal at the official meal times !!! That's why it is on the weekends probably very full as I was told. But you should not miss this because most of the ingredients are cultivated

themselves. The temple was founded by the monk Sangwol Wonjak who was also the first abbot of the monastery. The temple was rebuilt in 1945 after being burnt down during the Korean War in 1945 and resettled in 1966. A temple stay

for a few days is also possible. Information about it and general information about the Guinsa Temple can be found on the official website of the temple guinsa.templestay.com

On Saturday, June 15, we were part of the 530th anniversary of Ratkovo Municipality where we presented a demonstration.

Our task was not only to show the different aspects of WonHwaDo's martial arts, but also to be practiced by young and old as well as boys and girls. Won Hwa Do Martin

On 13.05.2017, the headinstructor of the German WonHwaDo began working on his second book an encyclopaedia of Korean martial arts. After about 2 years on 09.06.2019 his book called “The Lexicon of Korean Martial Arts was published by epupli. The book contains nearly 90 different Korean martial arts and describes them on more than 200 pages. Of course, there is a chapter dedicated of our martial art WonHwaDo. On 3 pages with various illustrations our martial art is presented. Here are the details: The Encyclopedia of Korean Martial Arts, softcover, about 212 pages, ISBN 978-3-748551-35-5
