CHARTER BELIZE 10 DAY ITINERARY | BELIZE CITY TO BELIZE CITY
SALES | NEW CONSTRUCTION | CHARTER
BELIZE A sublime yachting oasis with an idyllic blend of tropical vacation, ancient culture and colorful adventure!
Belize is a small country in northern Central America just a bit larger than the U.S. state of Massachusetts. To the north is Mexico and to the west is Guatemala. The western Caribbean fronts the rest of Belize. One of its most remarkable features, making this destination splendid for a Belize cruising vacation, is the Mesoamerican Reef that stretches approximately 350 nautical miles from the tip of the Yucatan Peninsula down along most of the Belizean coast. Only Australia’s Great Barrier Reef is larger. In Belize, the reef shelters more than 400 cayes. Most are fringed with additional reefs comprised of at least 50 species of hard and soft coral. Manatees, whale sharks, and roughly 500 species of tropical fish thrive in these waters, and all manner of seabirds are plentiful, including the Magnificent Frigate and the Brown Booby. A Belize cruising vacation naturally focuses on the superlative onboard experience, scenic anchorages behind palm-fringed or mangrove-lined cayes, and the fantastic snorkeling and scuba diving in some of the clearest water anywhere. Forays to restaurants on the cayes to sample local cuisine and exposure to Belizean culture add to the pleasures. However, a Belize yacht charter can encompass much more, and often does. Many guests add extra time at the start or finish of their adventure to include a guided dive excursion to the Great Blue Hole, a geological wonder of the world located within Lighthouse Reef, or sightseeing tours of the Mayan ruins inland.
ADVENTURE TO BELIZE
Unspoiled and less crowded than other parts of the Caribbean, Belize is a laid-back paradise very similar to the cruising grounds of the South Pacific. Known for world-class snorkeling and scuba diving, superior chartering in protected waters, and unparalleled natural beauty, a Belize cruising vacation is unique and special.

DAY 2 – TRUNEFFE REEF TO LIGHTHOUSE REED ATOLL / BLUE HOLE TO HALF MOON CAY Early cruise to Lighthouse Reef Atoll. Dive off Half Moon Caye or tender to the Blue Hole. Dive or swim over the 407-foot (124-meter) deep sinkhole. The beaches here are beautiful and showcase miles of virgin coral reef offering great snorkeling and scuba diving. Half Moon Caye is a nature reserve where 4,000 red-footed booby birds have made their home. If you want to go ashore, a crew member is happy to accompany you along a trail which leads to an observation platform.
PLEASE NOTE:
That Anchorage will need to be assessed for current weather conditions and holding as there is only a limited area to anchor in half moon Cay and we want to ensure that we have a protected anchorage. If anchorage does not have favorable anchorage big boat will remain at lighthouse and tender will take guests to Great Blue hole.
DAY 3 – HALF MOON CAYE TO HATCHET CAYE / QUEENS CAYE TO LAUGHING BIRD CAYE Today we’ll serve Lunch underway to Gladden Entrance and anchor near Hatchet Caye for the night. Why spend the day enjoying the yachts plethora of toys: PWC, Seabobs, water skis, wakeboards, kayaks, paddleboards, and inflatables.
Dive or snorkel off Hatchet Caye and visit Hatchet Caye Resort.
DAY 4 – LAUGHING BIRD CAYE TO LA CIEBA Today we’ll leave Belize and head towards Honduras. La Ceiba is a great place to drop anchor while you visit many of the local attractions. Tender inland and check out the historic city of Copan; an ancient Mayan ceremonial site located in a tropical rainforest.
DAY 5/6 – LA CIEBA TO UTILA (OVERNIGHT AT ANCHOR) Make your way over to the smallest of the Bay Islands, Utila. For beach lovers, Parque Nacional Jeannette Kawas offers white sandy beaches and great snorkeling on the coral reefs. For a little local shopping, seek out Mercado Guamilito found in San Pedro Sula. This enormous market offers various handcrafted artisan pieces and some of the best places to eat. As an alternate option, cruise to Cayos Cochinos, a great place to take in spectacular views. A day at the Rio Platano Biosphere Reserve gives you the opportunity to see pumas, sloths, and jaguars. Finally, visiting Honduras wouldn’t be complete without enjoying a carnival; The Carnaval de La Ceiba is held in May when the streets are transformed into a fiesta.
DAY 7 – LA CIEBA/UTILA TO MONKEY RIVER, BELIZE Visit one of the last remaining purely creole villages in Belize, Monkey River Town. Here, drop anchor at the mouth of the river, and a guide will come aboard and take you for a “Monkey River Magic” tour; home to some fantastic wildlife, including black howler monkeys. Dine at the French Connection Restaurant, voted best food in Belize or enjoy a romantic dinner onboard. If you prefer a cultural evening, we can arrange for Garifuna dancers and drummers to come onboard or you can head to one of the local resorts for cocktails.
DAY 8 - MONKEY RIVER UP TO PLACENCIA Every year during the months of March, April, May, and June, whale sharks migrate to an area approximately 26 miles off the shores of Placencia called the Gladden Spit Cut. We will attempt to find these magnificent creatures so that guest can swim with them. The entire chain of islands out here is exceptional and offers excellent Wall, Canyon and Faro diving.
DAY 9 – PLACENCIA TO BELIZE CITY Cruise overnight from Placencia to Belize City for your following day departure. Stop at Seal Cay for an unforgettable diving excursion. Leave early enough for No Name Point; this safe and secure anchorage is situated on a mangrove fringed peninsula sheltering a lagoon teeming with wildlife, so grab a kayak to explore the intriguing waters.
