The Council works with experts, stakeholders, staff and the public to BALANCE CONSERVATION, ECONOMIC, AND SOCIAL/CULTURAL CONCERNS to manage fisheries sustainably for THE GREATEST BENEFIT OF ISLAND COMMUNITIES AND THE NATION.

• DEVELOP other conservation and management measures (e.g., gear/season/area restrictions)

• CREATE reports on annual fishery performance

• DEVELOP multi-year research priorities

• DESCRIBE and identify essential fish habitat
