Concert Hall
Spending a year apart has not been easy. While programming next season, I often drew comfort and inspiration from envisioning you – our wonderful patrons – seated in the Centennial Concert Hall, each of us playing a crucial role in the incomparable communion of a live concert. I’m certain you also know these feelings well and – like both the orchestra and myself – you yearn to be reinvigorated by the unique energy only a live audience and musicians can spark together. When punctuated with the overwhelming sound of applause, it is

like nothing else. We can’t wait to hear, feel and be together soon. Our 2021/22 season is filled with music both familiar and new; powerful and bold; entertaining and thought provoking. Our own WSO musicians will continue to share the spotlight alongside returning audience favourites, as well as celebrated guest artists making their WSO debut. The great philosopher Plato once said, “Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, a charm to sadness and life to everything.” Whether it’s experiencing the exhilarating power of the WSO’s live performance in-person or enjoying a livestream from the
