The members of th.e swfl M Ted t's Year Book , "The Jlt'tldlt•r". are gc,lng to present three cumedy skit$. a long with commerehls, in an effort to stimulate great· er salc_q of "The Pecidler" in the o;tud<>nl body. Al'ln at this time, Tau Beta Pi, national honorury e ngineerinK society, wiJl annouuce the names of nwn ~elected for membership at its fall eltttion. The program will begin with a tnlk by a faculty member. Following this and Tau Beta l'i pledging, the bnud will play a. few " mood" selt'ctlon~. after which the " program commercial" is to be presented. Them the Em-Cee will introduce the (;l{'e Club which will render a few of their more popular numbers. After this entertainment, " T he Peddlcr Players" will come on stage with the frrsl or two of three comedy sldu thry plan to present. The Octet will follow with a n umber, after which another faculty member will give a short talk. The program will wind up with the lnsl and possibly the most hu· morous of the three skits and a coneluding sales talk by a Peddler Sales Representative. This program was designed from stan to finish to give you both bumor and the inside information on the New Peddler. The cover of the book will be displayed, and the rC'duced price and other features a nnounced.

Coffee hop The Coffee Shop wishes to announce that it is now open from 8:.30 to I I :00 and from 2.00 to 5:00. The shop, as u~ua l. is located in the Sanford RilC'y Commons and i., manned by two girls. At pr~ent, the shop offers only mffec and doughnuts, but in tht future a line or frui t juice is t'<pected to be added. Don't ftJrget that the Student Chris· tl.Jn Association operates both lht coffee shop in the Com· mons and lbe Canteen in the rzym.

On Saturday, Nov. 20, thanks to !>ponsor~hip of J)i D elta Epsilon, then• will lle something new and pleasant added to the locnl field of lnterfr·llternity activity. An Inter· fraternit y Sing is going to l)e held, nnd will begin at 8:00 P.M. in the .'\!den Memorial Auditorium. Each fraternity will be represented in turn. The twelve ancl one half foot Dyer Dhows out on l ndian Lake will be hauled out this coming week. The last race of the seaM>n was nt the trinngular regatta held by the Coast Guard Academy on the Thames River in New London. Coast Guard with such Olympic material as Larry White were just too much for Tech helmsmen. However, Rhode Island State, the third team in the triangle presented an even match. At thc en d of the a fternoo.n when th e added ed t 1t t scores were up urn ou that WPI was ahead by five points. Rhode Island State, unsatisfied with thl~ result , ~nsisted on an addition~ race. A com was flipped to see If they would race again, and they did. By this time the wind had died and Oavr Flood, John Beckwith, and Walt Beckwith, all heavy wind S.'lil· ors, could not make their craft go. A~ a result Rhode Island make up the five points and one in addition to cop second placr honors leaving third to Tech. Althouflb lbe sailing season is (!rawing to a close the activities of the Nautical association continue on. The shore school is continuing in instructing its members on the fine art of yacht racing. The meetings rel(ularly held on Tuesday, will be held less often, however, in spite of this slowdown the Association is holding together and girding its loins for a big season which opens in the spring.

A check of previous J~!\ues reveals that the error occurred durin~ the Wnr when the accelerated program was in effect . The changeover of Tt.C tl N~-:ws personnel was so frequent that in the process the T•.r u NEws was incorrectly volumed and Lhe error bas persisted. The Teetr Nxws staff is now making the correction. Time has been lost, but not quality and improvemcnt in the format of the paper.

Th<' ASCE student chapter or Worcester Tech held lheir first ........ --1ing on Monday evening, November J S. Mr. Oscar Horovitz, or Cambridge, Muss., speaker of the eve· ning, wus presented by Prof. Long· well1 f:u·ulty adviser of the chapter. Mr. Horovitz spoke on steel struc· lures, IUld supplemented his talk with movies. He has done work along this line in Filene's department store of Worcester, and in the structure of the Hght towers at Fenway Park, Hoston.

Bant·shes Blues The good old Yellow Barn became affectionately known as the am~r john as of November 10, the fatal eve of the senior beer brawl. They also forgot what day it was, where they were, and there are still a few pairs of sodden pants floating amund down there. Song groups were not long in forming, but most of those who ordinarily would have been prone to participate were prone, and therefore unable to pttrticipate.
