Seventeen years on and Wrapco, as it is affectionately known, has never lost sight of that original goal. Instead our passion for wholesaling great quality Australian made gift wrapping paper and accessories has only grown. Today we are the market leader in Australia for complimentary gift wrapping products and gift wrapping accessories. Not only are we dedicated to manufacturing in Australia, we are also constantly pursuing new ways to produce the most environmentally friendly product possible. In 2011 we became foundation shareholders in Australia’s first community based wind farm, Hepburn Wind. Being a part of such an inspiring change in Australia’s green energy landscape motivated us to install over 230 solar panels on the roof of our factory in Braeside, we now run our business solely on solar and green energy. Making us the only gift wrapping manufacturer to use 100% renewable green energy in Australia. We ensure that all our paper products are made from either recycled paper or paper that is sourced from certified sustainable forests. The inks we use are made in Australia using plant based solvents and we can guaranteed they are 100% lead free. Our team of artisan printers, headed up by Robin, is keeping alive traditional printing techniques on our Letterpress and Flexographic printing machines. Today I head a small, dedicated team of graphic designers including our daughter Chloe, who has established her own retail designer paper goods business, Inky Co. While Harry keeps Wrapco ticking, ensuring the smooth day to day running of our team. He is constantly finding exciting ways that we can do things better and more efficiently, enabling us to keep manufacturing in Australia. To make your paper fan you will need a strip of wrapping paper or Belli-Band™, metallic cord, scissors and double sided tape. 1. Cut a rectangle of roll wrap, the wider the strip of paper you use the larger your fan will be. Your strip should be around four times longer than it is wide.
2. Begin making your fan by placing the strip of paper pattern side up on a clean workspace.
3. Using an accordion style fold, work from the bottom of the strip of paper upwards.
4. Once the strip has been completely folded, cut two small triangular nicks in the centre of each side. Be careful to keep your cuts separate so as not to cut through the fan.
5. Tie approximately 20cm of metallic cord around the centre of the fan. Open out the two sides to create the Butterfly Fan.
6. To create the Semi-Circle Fan fold out the top section of the fan and secure the two sides together with double sided tape.
7. To make the Full Circle Fan fold repeat step 6 using the bottom section of the fan.
8. Secure your fan to the top of your present using the metallic cord. Enjoy!
