Overview Storm the Tower Level Concept: The level takes place in the Mayan Ruins where Nathan must defeat the mercenaries in order to save Elena from her captors. Prior to this level, Nathan and Elena explored the Customs House, a large harbor building, looking for the ship’s lost manifests. They discovered that one of the logs contained a passage on El Dorado. Nathan and Elena decided to head back to the boat so that they could continue to search for the lost treasures; however, before they reached the boat they both agreed to separate so that Elena was able to film more of the island. While filming, Atoq Navaro’s Mercenaries seized Elena and held her captive. Atoq Navaro was working with Gabriel Roman to find El Dorado and capture Nathan. By using Elena as bait, Navaro hopes to draw Nathan out of hiding and kill him.

The player must explore the first area, while picking up grenades, ammo, and an M16, avoiding crumbling platforms and destroying the initial wave of attacking Mercenaries. After the first wave of enemies has been eliminated, the player must go up the stairs to the next part of the level and collect ammo pick-‐ups before the next wave of enemies appear. The player must head down to the ground level and fight enemies to unlock the main gate. The player needs to use metal chains to swing across a deep pit, and proceed towards the tower where Elena is being held. As Nathan approaches the tower the final wave of enemies spawn. The player must eliminate them before he can save Elena, and escape with her down the zip line to freedom.
Storm the Tower Gameplay Overview: [Objective 1] The player begins at the start of the level and must climb up the first two platforms in order to reach the first area. Once the player has picked up the M16 gun from a crate, they are able to climb up a small tower by holding on to the ledges and shimmying across to the next platform. The next platform is a crumbling platform that the player will need to jump off of quickly in order to reach the next area. This area has pick-‐ups for the player (grenades and ammo), enabling them to be armed before the first wave of enemies attack. Players must use the pillars, and other forms of cover, for concealment in order to shoot the enemies before advancing to the next part of the level. [Objective 2] The player must run up the stairs to the upper level where they will find more pick-‐ups (ammo). After they have collected the pick-‐ups they must head down to the next area where more enemies will spawn and begin to attack them. Players must use the pillars for cover and shoot the enemies until they have all been killed before they collect the pick-‐ups (Winchester 62A, and ammo). [Objective 3] Players must run and jump down to the lower level to shoot the new wave of enemies. Once the enemies have been killed the player must use a key from the body of the last dead enemy to unlock the gate, and move to the next part of the level. [Objective 4] The next part of the level has hanging metal chains, which the player must use in order to swing across a deep pit. Once traversed they head up the stairs to the Tower where Elena is being held captive. [Objective 5] Enemies appear at the top of the stairs and players must hide behind cover and shoot them before entering the tower. Once Elena has been untied, the player must use the zip line to reach the ground while avoiding enemy shots.

Objectives and Challenges Objective 1: Destroy the First Wave: The initial part of the level will give the player a rough idea of the gameplay. The player climbs up the first set of platforms and moves towards the crate. They can pick up a M16 gun from the top of the crate that will be useful to them as they move through the level. The player must climb up the small tower by holding onto the protruding ledges and shimmy across the final ledge in order to jump down to the next platform. The next platform that the player lands on is a crumbling platform that falls. There is a cinematic showing the platform falling and Nathan just making it to the edge of the next platform. Once the player has reached the main platform the first wave of enemy Mercenaries will begin attacking. The player can pick up grenades and ammo from crates, and use them to attack the enemies. The player will need to hide behind cover and pillars while shooting the enemies to protect themselves from the incoming fire. Once all of the enemies are dead the player can proceed to the next part of the level. Player Progression: • • • • • •

Objective 2: Ascend the Stairs: All enemies must be killed before the player can advance towards the first set of stairs leading to the upper platform. On a neighboring platform there is ammo lying on a crate that players can collect prior to ascending the stairs. Once at the top of the stairs there is another crate with more ammo for the player to collect. The second wave of Mercenaries spawns and begins to attack the player as they run down the stairs. The player must hide behind the pillars for cover as they shoot the enemies and lob grenades. Once the enemies are dead the player can get the pick ups on the platform. The player will get ammo and a Winchester 62A gun. There is a cutscene showing new enemies spawning on the ground level. Players will continue to head down the stairs towards the ground level. Player Progression: • • • • • •

Objective 3: Enter the Fray: The player must run down the stairs and jump down from the platform to the ground level to face the new attacking enemies. When the enemies spawn the player can use the pillars and surrounding cover to hide while shooting at them. The player must kill all the enemies before advancing to the next part of the level. Players can collect the treasure from the secret area on the left-‐hand side of the map. When the player returns to the lower level there is a cutscene showing the next path Nathan needs to take to find Elena. The player must kill the fourth wave of enemies before advancing. The player will take a key off the last dead body and use it to open the gate Player Progression: • • • • •
Go down the stairs Attack spawning enemies and use cover Grab the treasure More enemies spawn – kill the fourth wave Use the key to unlock the door to the last part of the levels

Objective 4: Swing to the Tower The player needs to climb up the platforms, and use the metal chains to swing across the pit to the next area. A cutscene of Nathan grabbing the edge of the ledge will play before the player progresses onwards. Player Progression: • • •

Duration: 3 minutes Difficulty: Easy Objective 5: Zip line to Freedom The player goes up the stairs as the fifth wave of enemies appear and attack. The player must use the cover to hide and shoot the enemies before reaching the door of the tower. The player must shoot the lock off the door in order to reach Elena. A cutscene plays showing Nathan freeing Elena. Once Elena has been released, players must use the zip line and avoid enemy fire. There is a cutscene showing Nathan and Elena narrowly missing enemy fire. The last cutscene shows Nathan and Elena as they reach the final platform. Players can pick up the last piece of treasure before finishing the level. Player Progression: • • •
