IWB for Music Educators"
Samuel Wright 03/11
IWBʼs In The Music Classroom Making Music Interactive (again) Music is already an interactive subject, but can the IWB be used to engage minds, enhance ʻon-taskʼ time and inspire creativity? http://wrightstuffmusic.spaaze.com/ictintegratedmusic (an interactive music classroom 10/10 AIS ICT Conference)
“Is the IWB a tool? not entirely. Is it an instrument? not really. Is it an entertainment system? not always. It is the square window into what you want to teach. Whether it be Pitch, Dynamics, Louis Armstrong or how to use GarageBand. An IWB can give your students an insight into the world of music like never before. Your only limitation is your imagination.” Who am I? Samuel Wright, a music teacher undertaking a Masters in Music Technology interested in creating exciting and engaging tasks for music education. Why? The state of music education needs to adapt to the current climate of music technology. Notation, the concepts and analyses are still necessary but students leave school and engage in music making activities that we as educators should be leading the way in. For example: Pogo & Mike Tompkins
