About KZN NAMUHLA KZN Community Newspaper was established on 15 September 1998 by its Publisher and Editor Ms Sheila Mhlongo. It is a monthly publication distributed free of charge in and around Durban, Pinetown, and Pietermaritzburg Multi-Purpose Centers, Government Departments, Libraries, Business Centers and Taxi/Bus Ranks as well as some shops. The newspaper is also accessible through digital networks such as KZN Namuhla App that leads the reader to the website, Facebook and Twitter. The newspaper is also distributed to its

subscribers via emails addresses and WhatsAPP. KZN Namuhla Community Newspaper prides itself for providing informative and educational news, as and when they happen through its digital space without waiting for its fortnight editions. KZN Community Newspaper depends entirely on advertisements and sponsorships for its production costs, as advertisements is the main source of income that makes it possible to provide space for all kinds of publicity.

OUR MISSION To provide informative and educational editorial so that people can make informed decisions as well to create platforms for the community through dialogues and practical training opportunities for youth.

KZN Namuhla Community Newspaper prides itself for providing informative and educational news, as and when they happen through its digital space without waiting for its fortnight editions.

OUR OBJECTIVES • To be the best advanced local newspaper in creating a platform for community dialogues that will help shape our future generation that understands what the Fourth Industrial Revolution means to them through our community development initiatives. • Is to promote KZN Namuhla Newspaper Digital Migration Awareness Campaign by organizing Fund-Raising events such as Seminars, Workshops, Gala Diners, Music Competitions and Athletic Fun Run in partnership with our existing and prospect stakeholders as well as our Clients. • To promote Fourth Industrial Revolution to school going children by encouraging the culture of reading and writing so that they can participate in developing their knowledge in terms opportunities in line with new technology and new careers path. • To create a platform for youth empowerment initiatives through practical training so that they can gain knowledge and experience as well as preparing them for job market or self-employment. • To identify and form partnerships with stakeholders who are involved in community developments initiatives that targets children, youth, women, senior citizens and all sectors of community members who are less privileged by taking part in their initiatives whenever they have events to launch or unveil their projects. • To provide a platform for business to promote their services and products to the reader as well as the government to communicate its developmental initiatives and programs. projects.

Kzn Namuhla BACKGROUND KZN Namuhla Community Newspaper, in partnership with eThekwini Municipality’s ABM Unit will be hosting a ‘Women In Business Seminar’ in collaboration with the seminars main sponsor, Insika Foundation. The seminar is held as part of the publications women empowerment initiative aimed at uplifting woman through allowing them access to information to run profit sustaining businesses in 2019 and going forward. The seminar will also cover the fast approaching 4IR and how businesses can take advantage of the process in order to keep ahead of social media and their clients

consumption of online content. The seminar is also part of Commemorating the women of 1956 who on 9 August marched to the Union Buildings in protest against the apartheid pass laws. This is done in an effort to celebrate todays womens’ achievements and the important role they play in all sectors of our society especially those in leadership position and in business. The seminar will take place on Saturday 17 August 2019 at 77 Monte Naicker (Pine) Street in Durban Opposite the ICC. The Gala Dinner will be held at The Royal Hotel in Durban.

The funds will go towards the payment of promotional materials such as branding, prizes, catering and travelling costs; to be used at schools, community upliftment organisations and at other events the publications holds at.
