2020 HILL DAY
Wintery weather could not stop members from traveling to Olympia on January 15 for WSCPA’s annual Hill Day. Members spent the day together going office to office to meet with their representatives and discuss professional issues. In addition to sharing their background and areas of professional expertise, members also shared concerns of occupational licensing proposals that potentially affect the CPA license and the need for clarification and simplification of the
Workforce Education Investment Act.
Thanks to these important conversations, the WSCPA was able to work with legislators on proposals related to occupational licensing, and the Legislature passed
Engrossed Substitute Senate Bill 6492 “Addressing workforce education investment funding through business and occupation tax reform.”
If you were not able to attend Hill Day, you can make a difference by contributing to the Certified Public
Accountant Public Action Committee (CPAPAC), or meeting with a legislator this summer to deliver a contribution. Contact Ashley Kittrell at akittrell@ wscpa.org for more information.
