How many things can you do in 10 years? Over 10 years a child grows, learns, and reaches the doorstep of teenagehood. Over 10 years we fall in and out of love, we wage one battle after another and, if we want to, we have enough time to start changing the world. In 10 years WSK Promotion has done all of this. We have grown and reached the doorstep of maturity, or so we hope. We have witnessed stories worth remembering and we have seen the sun of great passions set along the horizon of drivers’ growth into other motorsport scenarios. Fortunately, we have never waged actual wars, but we have worked hard every day to give everyone the best racing experience ever, on and off track. And while we haven’t changed the world in general, we can humbly say that we have brought some change to the world of karting! So, on WSK’s 10 year anniversary, we are especially proud to present another great new racing season and thrilled to write another chapter in our collective history with all of you.

FORMAT
championship FORMAT In keeping with the educational mission that the FIA attributes to the Formula 4 category, the Italian F4 Championship Powered by Abarth is structured to help drivers learn as much as possible, while testing their talent: from the weekend format and the point system to technical regulations
Each round opens with 2 free practice sessions (40 minutes each) and 2 official qualifying sessions (15 minutes each). It then continues with 3 races, of which the first and third are 28 minutes long (plus 1 lap) and the middle one is 18 minutes (and 1 lap). The qualifyings decide the start grid for the “long” races: Q1 for Race 1 and Q2 for Race 3. Instead, the line-up of Race 2 is defined by the order of
arrival of Race 1, with the top 10 inverted. Championshipwise, the qualifying phase offers the first opportunity to gain points: 5 for whoever scores the overall fastest lap. Race 1 and Race 3 each reward the Top 10 as follows: 1st place/25 pts, 2nd/18 pts, 3rd/15 pts, 4th/12 pts, 5th/10 pts, 6th/8 pts, 7th/6 pts, 8th/4 pts, 9th/2 pts, 10th/1 pt. Instead, Race 2 only assigns points to the Top 8: 1st
place/13 pts, 2nd/11 pts, 3rd/9 pts, 4th/6 pts, 5th/5 pts, 6th/4 pts, 7th/2 pts, 8th/1 pt. In addition, each race reserves 1 extra point for the best lap. Besides plenty of ontrack learning, every round also features a technical briefing that counts as “classroom” time, during which ACI-CSAI Federal School instructors help competitors analyze the best qualifying performance, identifying driving
strengths and race management skills and teaching them how to read and interpret telemetric data. Last, but not least, the championship also teaches drivers how to manage tire use over a race weekend: everyone may use 1 new set and 1 used set for free practice and a total of 6 new tires (3 front and 3 rear) for the rest of the weekend, from qualifyings to Race 3.

SECTION 3.3
AWARDS
awards and PRizes The second season of the Italian F4 Championship Powered by Abarth has increased the title award to a stunning 100,000 euro and extended the ACI Supercourse prize to the top 3 finishers
The ACI and WSK Promotion count on repeating the initial success obtained last year with a great second edition, with rich incentives. The award for the 2015 Champion has been more than doubled from last year and amounts to a stunning 100,000 euros. The sum alone reflects the championship’s mission to foster
young driver development and career growth, considering that the title is reserved to drivers between the ages of 15 and 17. In addition, the other big prize in store enrollment in the High Speed Supercourse at the ACI CSAI Federal School in Vallelunga - has been extended to the championship Top 3.
