Being a driver is great, compelling and - without a doubt represents a school of life. Indeed, whatever the sporting future may hold for any of the youngsters, something on a human, personal and experiential level will be ingrained in them forever. We have no doubts on this count. Just as we have none on the internationality of the Italian F.4 Championship Powered by Abarth circus: a competitive, healthy environment that allows the boundaries of the world to be viewed through different eyes. The participants are from a number of nationalities: Guatemala, Finland, Russia, Brazil, Colombia, Israel and Mexico (to name a few). In addition to all of the above, there is now also the opportunity, for the first time in the history of this competition, to race outside Italy, on the historic track of Le Castellet, in France. Travelling always represents an opportunity for growth. Motorsport, without a doubt, involves travelling: literally, thanks to the continuous trips to reach the venues of races, but also culturally, without needing to leave the paddock. That, all told, may even just be the greatest journey.

Informational advertising material. Enzo Fittipaldi (Prema Theodore Racing) took a starring role in the new season of the Italian F.4 Championship Powered by Abarth. The nephew of Emerson, twice F1 world champion, triumphed in the first round at the Adria International Raceway starting from pole position and posting the fastest lap. The Brazilian (who was born in the USA) led from start to finish, with Leonardo Lorandi (Bhaitech Racing) finishing behind him after climbing five places from the starting grid and even attempting to overtake Fittipaldi in the last stages of the race. However, the latter was able to keep things tight and deservedly finished in first place. Federico Malvestiti (Jenzer Motorsport) completed the podium in third, having been beaten to second by Lorandi just three laps from the end. The excellent Toby Sowery (KDC Racing), who climbed 6 places from his starting position on the grid, claimed fourth ahead of Petecof (Prema Theodore Racing), who finished first among the rookies, and Rodriguez (DRZ Benelli), who ended sixth after being awarded a 3 second penalty. 20 Toby Sowery

31 Marzio Moretti BVM RACING

Leonardo Lorandi (Bhaitech Racing) and Enzo Fittipaldi (Prema Theodore Racing): history seemed to repeat itself in Race 2. Indeed, the two drivers started on the front row of the grid, with the Italian in pole getting off to the better start and stays out in front right up until the checkered flag. Behind him was Fittipaldi, who was caught unawares and overtaken at the off by his teammate Gianluca Petecof’s (Prema Theodore Racing) excellent start. The debutant did well to keep Fittipaldi at a safe distance throughout the race and cross the line in second place, which was also his career first podium finish in the Italian F.4 Championship powered by Abarth. Naturally, Petecof was also the leading rookie in Race 2, ahead of the Czech Petr Ptacek (Bhaitech) and the Israeli Ido Cohen (BWT Mucke Motorsport). The latter, in particular, managed a great comeback, climbing 11 places from his starting position on the grid.

Race 3 confirmed the trend over the first championship weekend: whoever starts on pole ends up winning the race. Once again, Enzo Fittipaldi (Prema Theodore Racing) played the starring role, stubbornly staying out in front throughout the race. Behind him came Leonardo Lorandi (Bhaitech Racing), who was very quick, and indeed posted the fastest lap, but also lucky when the safety car cancelled out the gap to the leader. At that point, the Italian driver did all he could win, but the Brazilian defended his position well and crossed the finish line a mere 76 milliseconds ahead of Lorandi and 8 tenths ahead of Javier Gonzalez (Jenzer Motorsport), who drove an excellent race, climbing up the field. Toby Sowery (KDC Racing), who was in with a chance of a podium finish up to four laps from the end, came fourth. Then came Saucy and Carrara (both Jenzer Motorsport), with the latter climbing 7 places from his position on the starting grid. Among the rookies, it was a third win out of three for Petecof (Prema Theodore Racing), ahead of Laganella (Cram Motorsport) and Krutten (BWT Mucke Motorsport).

DELEDDA ALESSIO

ITALIAN F.4 CHAMPIONSHIP

STANDINGS F.4 CHAMPIONSHIP They were a couple of rookies last year. This year, seeing the results at Adria, they are in with a chance of overall victory. We’re talking about Enzo Fittipaldi and Leonardo Lorandi, who lead the overall standings of the Italian F.4 Championship powered by Abarth. The Brazilian is first on 65 points, while the Italian is just four points behind. Rookie Gianluca Petecof is third on 34 points.

F.4 ROOKIE Gianluca Petecof, third in the overall standings, leads the rookie standings. The Brazilian is on 75 points and is the only rookie driver who has managed to get on the “overall” podium on the first race weekend. Then comes Petr Ptacek, on 42 points, and Umberto Laganella, third on 33 points, just three points ahead of compatriot Marzio Moretti.

F.4 TEAM After Adria, the battle for the constructors’ title is led by the Prema Theodore Racing, which has always been one of the most competitive outfits in the Italian F.4 Championships powered by Abarth, having claimed victory in three of the four seasons raced so far. The reigning champions, the Bhaithec Engineering team, are second in the standings, preceding the Jenzer Motorsport team.

NEWS

GREAT VEHICLES FOR A GREAT SHOW Some of the aspects that have made WSK Promotion events the epitomy of efficiency and performance.

EXPERIENCE ESPERIENZA Over the years, WSK Promotion has shown great organisational ability, initially put to the test in the field of international karting. The experience gained and the skills acquired were subsequently extended to single-seaters, as well, resulting in the organisation and the promotion, for five seasons, of the Italian F.4 Championship powered by Abarth. A competition still in its infancy, but already a reference point of the movement.

TECHNOLOGY AND SAFETY TECNOLOGIA E SICUREZZA In addition to the people working “behind the scenes”, WSK Promotion has acquired increasingly efficient vehicles and mobile structures: technological trucks for race officials, equipped for controlling every bend on every circuit, or for video production, to allow the live streaming of each event. There are also large reception facilities, capable of hosting all those involved in the events, including communication operators. Vehicles made for all specific needs, which alternate depending on the various needs of the motorsport classes in which WSK Promotion operates.

WSK TRUCK TRUCK WSK The flagship of the Italian F.4 Championship powered by Abarth is a large two-story mobile structure, purpose-built for the event. Inside there is a large space to accommodate all the drivers, as well as areas for small meetings. A visible presence in the paddock and an established “trademark” and operational reference point of WSK Promotion for everyone involved on race weekends.

CIRCUIT PAUL RICARD

ROUND 2

ALLONS EN FRANCE The Italian F.4 Championship is powered by Abarth crosses the border into France. For the first time in its history, the single-seater championship goes abroad, to the historic Paul Ricard circuit in Le Castellet. The track, built in 1970 by the businessman after whom it is named, has already hosted 14 editions of the French F1 GP and, this very year, will once again play host to the premier open-wheeled single-seater car event. The French circuit is quite long (5 861 m) and consists of two sections for driving, “interrupted” by a long straight (called Mistral) and a very fast stretch of track. It will be a new French…exam for the drivers of the Italian F.4 Championship powered by Abarth.

L’Italian F.4 Championship powered by Abarth sconfina in Francia.
