Lucas chases his dreams By Jacob Page
Churton Park violinist Lucas Baker is not one to let an opportunity pass him by. The fourth year New Zealand School of Music student is averaging four concerts a week while juggling study commitments. The 22-year-old has been playing the violin since the age of three as he looks to perfect his craft.
“My older brother was having his first violin lesson and I didn’t say a word but I stood in front of him wanting my turn and that’s how it all started.” Lucas likes a busy schedule. “This week I’ve got four different concerts and then a masterclass. “I’m just jumping from one thing to the next and there are rehearsals for other things as well, so it’s busy but I’m enjoying it.
