Johnsonville Market applies for Resource Consent Organisers have confirmed they will continue with the process to obtain resource consent to keep the Johnsonville Market operating at its current site.

Pre-application for a resource consent was made last year after the market was closed following a complaint from a member of the public – it had previously been operating every Sunday since 2012.

Complaints Council has received relate to matters including traffic congestion, parking issues and early morning truck noise.

Application for resource consent means it will now be publicly notified so the wider community can make submissions, which could take up to three months to process.

The public notification and details on how to make a submission will be on the engagement sections of Council’s website when the process starts.

Council has given the market permission to keep operating while the resource consent is processed.

The market, located on Johnsonville School premises on Ohariu Road, helps support funding for the school and unsold produce is given to Kiwi Community Assistance to support local food banks, school lunch programmes, local families in need and the women’s refuge.

Markets in the CBD and those operating in commercial areas don’t require resource consent.

“This has come out of the blue!” says Churton Park’s independent filmmaker April Phillips.

She’s talking about her nomination for the annual Humanitarian Award by the ‘Best Shorts’ international film competition in relation to her film ‘The Last Man on Earth’.

That nomination follows her five Awards of Excellence at the 2020 awards including Disability Issues and Women Film-makers categories.

The news her film was one of a few picked out of thousands of entries in this special section came with a message that the judges were moved by her film and the

impact that it makes.

Underlying her uncanny prediction about a global pandemic, her Sci-Fi film focuses on the value of people with disabilities.

The annual prize is one that will go to “a deserving filmmaker who is committed to making a difference in the world through producing a film that delivers a potent impact on a critical issue – and combines that with the best of filmmaking craft”.

‘The Last Man On Earth’ cannot be released here until judging of this, and the international Minerva Award for female filmmakers have been completed, but April hopes that will happen in May.

Brass band returns with more than a concert

The Trust Porirua City Brass Band which has a number of North Wellington musicians are presenting a special Anzac Concert on Sunday at Aotea College.

The special event presents an Anzac story based on letters to and from a soldier and his family read by actors associated with the Porirua Little Theatre brought to life with music from the times such asvWe’ll Gather Lilacs, A Long Way to Tipperary and Pack up Your Troubles.

Musical director and conductor Clynton Payne says the Anzac concert means a lot to the entire band.

“Getting out there and being able to perform for the public is what we do this for and those opportunities have been hard to come by over the past 12 months.

“This isn’t your typical Anzac concert

because it has a big story behind it.

“That adds to the atmosphere of the event for sure.

Clynton has been involved in the band for more than 25 years and like many it is a hobby but Covid-19 has had a big impact.

“We had to conceal concerts, most of the band performed on Anzac Day at the end of their driveway and rehearsing was tough because we had to do it two metres apart.

“Sunday is about being back on track and we’re back with a vengeance.”

Clynton says he had a passion for conducting “a need to be in control”.

“Music and performance is all about expression and conveying emotions which I really enjoy.”

Majority vote on mana whenua representation proposal

Wellington City councillor, Jill Day.

A proposal to add mana whenua representation to Wellington City Council committees later this year – with the representatives having a vote and being paid – received a majority vote to go to full Council this month at last week’s Strategy and Policy Committee meeting.

Mana whenua within the city is defined as Taranaki WhƗnui ki Te Upoko o Te Ika and NgƗti Toa Rangatira.

The Council’s Strategy and Policy Committee voted on a recommendation that one representative from local mana whenua Taranaki WhƗnui ki Te Upoko o Te Ika and NgƗti Toa Rangatira sit on all Council committees and

subcommittees and have voting rights from 1 July.

The proposed arrangement would not extend to the Council’s CEO Performance Review Committee, the city’s two community boards or the District Licensing Committee.

The recommendation stems from a notice of motion successfully introduced last year

by Councillor Jill Day (NgƗti Tuwharetoa), who chairs the Strategy and Policy Committee, and who holds the Council’s MƗori Partnerships portfolio.

Under the proposal each mana whenua would be paid $111,225 a year – the equivalent to the salary paid to city councillors. Mana

whenua would decide which representatives would attend committee meetings.

Councillor Day says she and Cr Tamatha Paul are the only two MƗori on the Council and are often looked to for a MƗori perspective. “We do bring a perspective, but we know that authentic representation by mana whenua will provide for the best decisions for Wellington.

“I want to strengthen relationships between MƗRri and the Council so together we can improve community wellbeing. It is only through our partnership that we can take full advantage of the opportunities from the growing 0ƗRUL economy in Wellington.”

Glenside's Halfway House gardening exploits are receiving international attention.

Heritage gardeners gain international interest The Heritage Gardener’s at Glenside’s Halfway House are generating interest from other gardeners and from nurseries overseas.

The Heritage Roses NZ published an article in their national magazine about the historic Halfway House garden.

Glenside Progressive Association president Claire Bibby says the interest is exciting.

“Sweet-pea breeders Dr Keith Hammett of New Zealand and Roger Parsons of the United Kingdom are communicating with Claire about her heritage sweet-pea research and Clive Groves of UK is wanting seed from our heritage violet.

“This year I have been invited to speak to the Tawa Union Church Women’s Group, the Paremata Garden Club and the Hutt Valley Rose Society about what we do,” she says.

“The Moths and Butterflies initiative led by

EYE ON CRIME In Newlands the owner a silver Honda Accord saloon was notified the fraudulent charges were being made against his bank account using his credit card. He has since stopped his cards at the bank and Police are looking for the person responsible. A white Mitsubishi L300 van parked at the top of the driveway of a house in Ruskin Road was broken into and a quantity of power tools stolen. A camera at a residential construction site in Boeing Way revealed men climbing over partially constructed walls and stealing a number of aluminium double glazed window and a door. A grey Ford Mondeo hatchback parked in a city fitness centre was broken into

via a smashed passenger window. Nothing was stolen.

In Khandallah the ranch sliding door on the third floor of a multi storey house in Simla Crescent was smashed. There does not appear to be any entry gained.

In Churton Park a red Mitsubishi Lancer parked in the driveway in Burbank Crescent had a rear passenger window smashed to gain access. They tried to start the car by pulling out the ignition but this failed. Also in Burbank Crescent a white Nissan Tiida hatchback had a quarterlight window was smashed and the ignition tampered with. car that they overlooked some cash in the glove compartment. In Abilene Crescent a white Mazda Demio hatchback parked in the driveway of a house had a left rear quarterlight window smashed. A steering wheel lock probably saved it from being another stolen car statistic. A green Mitsubishi Colt hatchback was stolen from Halswater Drive.

An attempt to steal a Mazda Axela saloon parked in Amesbury Drive. A window was smashed and the ignition pulled out but the offender abandoned the attempt. A red Hyosung Moped was parked in the victim’s driveway in Furlong Crescent, just metres from his bedroom. It was stolen. Later it was found nearby with wires pulled out of the ignition. A blue Mazda Demio parked in Burbank Crescent was stolen. It was located in Churton Drive with rear left quarterlight window smashed and ignition barrel damaged. A grey Mazda Atenza was stolen from Goddard’s Grove, Churton Park and located at Titahe Bay. It was damaged with ignition pulled front right tyre shredded and left rear quarterlight smashed. A blue Mazda6 stationwagon had a window smashed to gain entry. However the opportunity to steal it was frustration by the factory fitted immobiliser which limited the offenders to pulling out the ignition.

Place was stolen. In Montserrat Place a grey Mazda Atenza stationwagon was stolen. It was later found in Guadeloupe Crescent in damaged condition.

In Crofton Downs a blue Toyota Corolla hatchback suffered a broken window and the loss of a bag. The owner of the bag went to Churchill Drive for a walk and when he came back the bag of power tools was missing. In Chartwell Drive a white Toyota Yaris hatchback was broken into and a backpack stolen. Among the items stolen was Bank card, cash and driver’s licence the bank cards have been fraudulently used.

In Karori a black Mazda Roadster convertible was stolen from Pimble Avenue. It was recovered further down the street where it had been abandoned. An immobiliser prevented the engine being started. A silver Honda Torneo saloon, parked near Lancaster Street, was stolen. It was located in the back yard of a vacant property in Cannons Creek. An attempt was made to steal a white Honda Civic saloon from its park in South Karori Road, bike carpark. A window was smashed to gain entry and then tampering with the ignition to start the vehicle. The attempt to steal was abandoned. A grey Mazda Premacy stationwagon, parked in Croydon Road, was stolen. It was recovered in Ihakara Street, Paraparaumu, in a damaged condition.

Will Anthony shines again Johnsonville’s Olympic Harriers runner, Will Anthony set a new record over 3000 metres for Senior Boys at the North Island Secondary Schools Championships in Hamilton on Saturday. The 17-year-old from Scots College ran an 8.16.31 to smash the record set by Geordie Beamish of Wanganui back in 2014 by almost seven seconds in an outstanding display of front running in damp humid conditions at Porritt Stadium.

Will’s performances should earn him Wellington M17 and M18 records surpassing that of Phillip Starr’s M17 mark of 08:17.0 set back in 1992 and putting him top of New Zealand Men 20 rankings for 2021

Industry and family donors award 36 Whitireia students scholarships There were 36 Whitireia students who have received scholarships from the Whitireia Foundation to assist with their 2021 studies.

The Whitireia Foundation is a volunteer-run trust, established in 1999.

They aim to promote knowledge, interest and support for the educational activities of Whitireia students. Donors, which are listed below, are often big industry players who recognise the importance of vocational education as a pathway for New Zealanders into work.

The scholarships are awarded to students who are achieving in their courses but find themselves in a financial situation which would impact their ability to study, and who showed enthusiasm and willingness to work hard to succeed in their chosen field of study. The majority of scholarships awarded will be used for tuition fees or the materials needed for their course.

Whitireia Foundation Chair, Kelvin Irvine says, “for many of the recipients, they will be the first in their family to continue on to tertiary education, so having the support of the scholarship and the donor can be a powerful and even life-changing experience.”

Scholarship donors can act as mentors to the students, helping to prepare them for the workforce by working on CVs, practising job interviews and helping them make connections within their industry.

The Whitireia Foundation has handed out a number of scholarship to help recipients with their studies.

“It is hugely satisfying to be able to help these deserving students so that they can complete the study that they had set out to do, many face or have faced extraordinary challenges and the Foundation provides them with the support they need to gain a qualification which can often mean a pathway to a better outcome for them, and

often also their families,” explains Mark Oldershaw, Chief Executive of Whitireia.

“The Whitireia Foundation trustees work throughout the year to grow the number of sponsors contributing to the scholarship programme and thus grow the number of scholarships available to prospective students. This year,

the applications process attracted 95 applications and the value of the scholarships totalled close to $78,000.”

Sponsors can choose to donate to students studying a specific course, coming from a certain area, or generally at their own discretion.

Onslow College wins backing from ANZ Onslow College’s cricket season is ending on a high note, with the arrival of a full new set of gear, thanks to an ANZ Cricket Grant.

ANZ’s cricket grant programme gives New Zealand cricket players, teams, schools, and clubs the chance to apply for sponsorship to help them with their game.

Geoff Walker from Onslow College said he applied for the grant to help the school’s cricket programme keep up with high demand from increasing numbers of students wanting to get into the sport.

The new gear will help the school’s cricket players play to the very best of their abilities and step onto the pitch with confidence for the remainder of the 2021 season and beyond.

Geoff says “it’s brilliant to have this support from ANZ and to see our students finish the cricket season with all new gear. Every year our

cricket programme does extensive fundraising to keep costs down for parents, so this gear gives our players and coaches more time to focus on the game they love so much.”

Waimarie Carter, an Onslow College student and up-and-coming cricketer who also plays for the New Zealand MƗori Secondary Schoolgirls cricket team, said she wanted to thank ANZ for the new bat in particular, adding that “I scored my highest score for the season with it”.

Providing quality cricket gear is a step towards helping to strengthen cricket in Wellington.”

Northern United Hockey Club has kept thriving for 91 years. It’s watched boys and girls grow up on the field, with families spending their lives with the game through High School and Club grades.

Northern United Hockey Club draws its members from all over Wellington and has past members and players spread around the world.

Their main area for promotion of hockey is in the communities and schools from Crofton Downs to Glenside and Grenada Village, including two intermediate and two secondary schools. Their hockey career pathway retains members when they move out of this promotional region into greater Wellington, Porirua, and the Hutt Valley.

Club Patron and Life Member Stephen Mills has been involved since 1967, either playing, coaching, umpiring and administrating at the Club, Schools, Wellington Association and National levels.

The Club is proud of its three recent international players selected for the Olympic Games, World Cups and Commonwealth Games plus numerous tests – Wayne McIndoe, Phillip Burrows MNZM, and Kyle Pontifex, plus two international Umpires – Murray Walker and current umpire Simon Taylor.

More than 80 children with supportive parents and families are playing in the junior club -Northern United Junior Hockey Club Inc. Northern United supports Onslow and Newlands Colleges with coaching, skills, umpiring and mentoring alongside the College Coaches and competition games.

Stephen says they are happy to have Secondary School students play in open competition grades if their school does not have a hockey team.

Or the player wishes to have two games per weekend – high school and integration into club life alongside the students sporting life at high school.

Positive Investing? YIP! Hey Everyone! With all the changes in the market around landlord obligations, rental home assessments and changes to the tax deductibility – it is now more important than ever that you are investing effectively.

As mentioned last week, there is always an emotional response to market changes, but it is crucial that you take a rational and factual response to ensure you do not make any brash decisions.

A lot of people are using the news to scare people into selling their hard-earned investments and what you really need to do is take a step back, a deep breath and see how these things will actually affect you. This week I want to talk about yield, ie the return on your investment. With yields, the crucial thing is to look at ‘net yield’ ie what you make after expenses. In simple terms this is, your yearly rent, minus expenses, against the current value of the property. It is important you use the current value, as that is what your property is worth (not what you paid for it). From there you can clearly see if your investment is giving you a good return or not.

Some of the usual things to consider for costs will be obvious, such as rates, insurance, mortgage costs, maintenance, etc. However, the most important one that I notice landlords forgetting is the cost to remediate any depreciation. What this means is that you need to budget for / set aside as a cost $X to remediate the property. For example, if it costs you $20,000 to repaint the property every 10 years, then you need to factor in $2,000 a year for painting into your maintenance / depreciation costs. You will repeat this for carpet, interior painting, kitchens, bathrooms, roofs, etc. This ensure you are dealing with the true cost of owning the property.

Another thing that I see landlords forgetting

to factor in, is the value of the equity in the property. It is important to get a return on your equity as well, so the mortgage costs, should be based on the entire value of the property, not the value of your mortgage – otherwise you are getting 0% return for leaving your equity sitting in the property. I have seen some people calculate the return on that equity at a lower interest rate (usually to a term deposit rate).

Lastly, get on top of your understanding of the proposed tax deductibility changes, it does make a difference to your cash-flow/ yield calculation, however if you have been investing for a while and have good experience, chances are you would have been working on a long-term, cash-flow positive strategy, by which you will not be as affected. IF you are currently running on negative cash-flow, well you are probably holding on to an asset not worth investing in, and it may be better to sell and diversify into a better portfolio.

St Mark's School celebrated Holi Festival with plenty of colour.

St Mark’s celebrates Hindu Festival of Holi For the students at St Mark’s School, celebrating all the beautiful differences in people both across the globe and within their school is a key part of the curriculum.

Last week, St Mark’s embraced Holi, the Hindu festival of colours. All students, from Preschool right through to Year 8, were involved in the day, which included traditional Indian stories, music, art and the throwing of “gulal”, coloured powder. Students Aashiya Kaushal, Aanya Badiyani and Kaavya Badiyani also treated the whole school to a traditional Indian dance performance.

Cultural celebrations are a regular event at St Mark’s, and so far this year, the students have come together to celebrate important events such as Chinese New Year, Greek Independence Day, the Hindu festival of

Holi and Palm Sunday.

Within St Mark’s school, 27 different nationalities are represented amongst the students, and 13 different nationalities amongst the staff. All students take Spanish lessons and global cultures are shared as part of everyday learning.

“In this increasingly interconnected world, learning about and appreciating cultural differences is so important,” says Kent Favel, Principal at St Mark’s School.

GARDENING THIS WEEK Improving your soil and gardens: By Wally Richards A very interesting phone call last week from a South Island Farmer has pressed my excited button.

The call was about a product that his company has manufactured and used to great advantage on farmland pasture and home gardens.

I get approached every so often with products that people would like me to promote and with many they are just another ‘me-too’ product similar to what is already established in the home garden market.

The first part of our conversation was along those lines and then he mentioned an aspect which was very important and in particular this time of the year.

Microlife is a highly concentrated blend of selected living soil microorganisms.

It helps create high yielding disease suppressive soils supportive of plant root development and natural nitrogen fixation.

Beneficial soil organisms contribute to plant production by suppressing disease, developing soil structure / depth / softness, improving nutrient utilisation (N,P,K,S,B,Mo etc), increasing the effective rooting area of the plant, decomposing organic matter to release humic acid/ humates and exuding substances (sugars, proteins, hormones,

enzymes) to promote plant production.

The right types of organisms create that special X factor in soil. Microlife helps restore the balance of beneficial organisms in your soil and does not introduce foreign organisms.

During our conversation I was told that paddocks that have been treated with Microlife were found to have greatly reduced numbers of grass grubs and those that were found were inactive and in the process of dying.

Now I am excited as in the past there have been some attempts to control grass grubs with bacteria that affects their health and kills them.

Like a bacteria disease that affects grass grubs.

There have been preparations made for this, but tricky to use with a short shelf life and not easy for the home gardener to use.

So here is a product that is not only going to be very beneficial to your soil and gardens but also to your lawn in helping control those nasty grass grubs.

Also you will know that grass grubs are often found in vegetable gardens and flower gardens when working the soil.

They feed on roots of plants and bulbs and cause damage often not recognised.

Here is the magic to fix both

Therapeutic sleep heals the body In 1982 Colin ruptured a disk in his lower back.

When, after many weeks of treatment, it hadn’t healed, he was advised by his specialist to have surgery which involved the removal of a disk and the fusing together of two vertebrae. 2021 influenza immunisation Even with the current border settings related to our COVID-19 response, there is still a public health risk of flu in New Zealand and it’s important to get immunised against flu if it could make you very sick.

You can get the flu vaccine from 12 April if you’re aged 65 and over, and from 17 May if you’re under 65. People at higher risk of getting very sick from flu can get immunised for free.

This includes pregnant women, people aged 65 and over, people under 65 with certain medical conditions, and children aged 4 and under with serious respiratory illness. Go to the Fight Flu website for a full list of the health conditions that mean a person can get a free flu vaccine, or talk to your health provider.

It’s also important to get immunised against flu if you are a health or disability care worker, or a frontline worker. Employers generally fund this for their staff.

If you want to get immunised but you aren’t eligible for a free vaccine, talk to your health provider to find out when it will be available.

There is plenty of flu vaccine for the 2021 programme, with a record 2.4 million doses being brought into the country. Each year the influenza immunisation programme runs through to 31 December. Source: Ministry of Health.

If you have an appointment for your COVID-19 vaccination, get this first.

The COVID-19 vaccine is being rolled out in stages and those at greatest risk will be vaccinated first.

Dr Tim Halpine, of Active Feet Podiatry, says type 2 diabetes is increasingly common amongst teenagers, a shocking trend.

“An important tool in the prevention of diabetes is regular aerobic exercise, like walking,” Tim says. “In this sense, walking is the best prescription!”

Type 2 diabetes is much more prevalent among young people who are overweight and unfit. Diabetes is a condition where the blood sugar level is too high, resulting in damage to organ systems.

Regular walking helps calf muscles pump blood back to the heart and improves circulation. It burns calories, helps to maintain ideal body weight, control glucose levels and prevent the onset of adult diabetes.

“To participate regularly and comfortably

in a walking programme, feet need to be maintained and well supported,” Tim says.

“Podiatry plays a key role in ensuring walking is comfortable and easily achievable.”

Many children who complain of sore legs suffer from flat feet and may need to see a podiatrist in order to exercise happily and stay fit.

“It is especially rewarding to help these children overcome their pain, become active and decrease the risk of developing diabetes.

Reynolds from Bunny to Warrior?

Adam Reynolds could be an answer to the Warriors halves woes.

The South Sydney Rabbitoh has insisted he is willing to leave New South Wales for his next contract and he would be an excellent fit for the Warriors.

The Kiwi-franchises embarrassing loss to Manly on Friday night was typified by their inability to kick effectively on the last tackle.

The Warriors really haven’t replaced Shaun Johnson in the two seasons he has been gone and while finding a like-for-like was never going to be easy, the current crop of halves simply will not cut-it over a long NRL season.

Reynolds will be 31-years-old next season but there’s a strong chance the Warriors could get two-to-three years out of him.

Reynolds is a respected player having played 211 NRL games since debuting with the Bunnies in 2012.

It would be a short-term fix but one the Warriors look like they desperately need with the impending departure of captain Roger Tuivasa Sheck at the end of the season.

The Warriors have had success with younger halves in the

past like James Maloney, Chad Townsend and Lance Hohaia who were all early on in their careers when they were in New Zealand but the prospect of an experienced halfback has to be a juicy one.

Oh if only Ivan Cleary was still coaching the Warriors, maybe then Nathan would be a Kiwi cult-hero by now.

Losses like the one to Manly simply are not acceptable to a fan base which has been starved of success for almost three decades.

North Wellington score some, concede more in loss

Round 3 of the Men’s Central Football League unusually played out all on the same day on Saturday and the field is starting to spread in the race for places in the National Conference at the end of the regular season.

The mood was as miserable as the weather at Alex Moore Park and a reduced crowd expectantly looked to their local North Wellington heroes to do the business over their visitors, Waterside Karori.

Theory and reality were reading off different scripts however and it was Waterside Karori who were belting out their victory songs in the changing rooms afterwards with a well-deserved 3-2 win.

Norths had assembled more artillery than a 41 gun salute required but regrettably there were more duds than live rounds in the final analysis. Although Norths enjoyed

early possession, Waterside were first on the board in 28th minute with what turned out to be a North Wellington own goal after a nasty deflection right in the 6 yard area.

Norths continued to pepper the Waterside goal but the ball repeatedly failed to go between the sticks and under the bar.

It was 1 all, two minutes into the second half when Norths stand in Captain, Gavin Hoy, converted a beautiful free kick from Scott Henderson. Karori were having none of it though with Blake Driehuis converting his penalty opportunity past Keegan Smith after a Karori player was tripped in the box. Stefan Cordwell made it 3-1 to Karori after 53 minutes and the visitors looked well in control of the game. The North’s passing game just wasn’t there and they gave up possession time and time again, right until the final whistle. Ahmed Othman managed

to get a second goal for Norths at the end of regulation time when he smashed a shot home at close range but the score on the board recorded a 3-2 win to Karori.

In other matches in the round, Miramar Rangers eased past Lower Hutt 1-0, Western Suburbs travelled away to beat Wainuiomata 4-1 and Wellington Olympic enjoyed their outing to Petone for a 3-1 win. Wairarapa United had an excellent afternoon in Masterton with a comprehensive 5-0 win over Napier City Rovers. Miramar have amassed a maximum 9 points already, followed by Wellington Olympic on 7 and Wairarapa United on 6. At the other end of the ladder, Wainuiomata and Petone have yet to get off the mark.

In the Women’s Premier League, The Innkeeper Johnsonville, North Wellington side enjoyed a 3-0 win over Brooklyn in the opening round.

Johnsonville surge to opening round Swindale Shield win

Johnsonville captain Andrew Ellis surges into a gap during his team’s 36-20 Swindale Shield win over Paremata-Plimmerton, on Saturday.

Johnsonville secured their first opening round Swindale Shield victory in more than a decade with a 36-20 triumph over Paremata-Plimmerton on Saturday.

Johnsonville scored six tries to three at Helston Park to earn the bonus point victory.

The home team raced out to a 14-0 lead early only to see Paremata- Plimmerton score twice themselves.

However the forwards set a strong platform and the hosts were able to put in a strong second half to claim the win.

Fullback Andrew Ellis, wingers Knox Tuinasau and Waisea

Yakakivou, first-five Niall Delahunt and No 8 Ofa Ueseli each scored for Johnsonville plus there was a penalty try.

Johnsonville coach Jason Adamson says the result was pleasing for a first hit-out.

“It’s a good starting point,” he says. “I thought our set piece went well and we only lost one line out.”

“We got two tries, we got a bit complacent especially with our exit plays which were not working.

“Once our fitness levels improve, our concentration will improve.”

Johnsonville were on the wrong end of the penalty count with offsides and the

tackle/-release interpretation being two work-ons that were identified.

Jason praised right winger Tuinasau for his desire to challenge the defensive line and the work rate of Ueseli off the back of the scrum.

Jason says the win certainly brings a sense of self-belief to the club and the team but he knew an improved performance would be needed against the Upper Hutt Rams at Maidstone Park this Saturday.

The Johnsonville premier 2 Cripples team beat Paremata-Plimmerton 44-13 in their opening encounter of the season.
