A quartet of North Wellington volunteers have been recognised at the Absolutely Positively Wellingtonian Awards last week.

John Browning, Anthony Edmonds, Gary Mitchell and Peter Reimann were amongst 12 awards winners at the annual event.

The Absolutely Positively Wellingtonian Awards (APWs) are one way for the Council to honour members of the community who have made outstanding or lengthy contributions, usually in a voluntary capacity, to the capital and its people.

Selfless volunteers honoured with awards Continued from page 1.

John is a selfless, dedicated, and respected community stalwart in Wadestown.

He has served as President and Committee member of Wadestown Residents Association, a trustee and project lead with the Wadestown Village Green Trust and has been a community leader in emergency preparedness.

John recently completed a four-year project to install and landscape a bush path and recreation spaces in the bush area behind the Wadestown Library, ensuring that future generations of Wadestown Residents will be able to enjoy their community spaces.

It has proved very popular with the community and his work continues with ongoing plantings and maintenance.

He has introduced a monthly newsletter to help publicise the voluntary work in the park and to give view to the seasonal changes in the bush itself.

Anthony Edmonds is a tireless advocate for Trails Wellington, which is a collective of passionate locals focused on creating epic trails in and around Wellington.

Their partners and affiliates include Wellington Mountain Bike Club, Makara Peak Supporters,

Brooklyn Trail Builders, Revolve and WORD. With Anthony’s leadership, the trust has bought these stakeholders together under one banner to coordinate fundraising, trail building, and to help fund volunteer work aimed at making Wellington the world’s premier city for accessible trails.

Thanks to Anthony’s tireless efforts, the Trails Wellington app has been launched and provides a platform for membership as well as trail reports for Wellington’s riders.

Trails Wellington has secured more than $1 million in funding to use for the benefit of Wellington trail users.

Peter Reimann is a dedicated conservationist who has worked tirelessly to protect and enhance Wellington’s biodiversity.

As Chair of the Trelissick Park Group, he has overseen work that has made the Park one of Wellington’s most attractive recreation areas.

Since retiring as a professional engineer, Peter has been involved in tree planting at Trelissick Park, lead the development of the Oban Street bridge, and managed Department of Conservation funded work to clear and plant on a riparian strip near railway land.

Grenada Village’s Gary Mitchell received a Volunteer Wellington Mahi Award last month.

In addition to working in the public service, Gary Mitchell volunteers as Senior Honorary Fisheries Officer, Justice of the Peace, White Ribbon Ambassador, and in the Salvation Army bail house.

His volunteering also includes roles as Grenada Village Neighbourhood Support Street Coordinator, Manager Keep North Wellington Beautiful, Keep Porirua Beautiful, Red Cross Disaster Welfare Team member and a member of the Grenada Village Community Association.

Gary’s volunteering is widespread and his energy bound-

less and infectious, constantly improving the delivery of the organisations he supports.

His focus on helping prisoners and young offenders turn their lives around gives just one example of the insight and understanding he brings to this mahi.

In addition to the volunteering above, Gary also established Predator Free Grenada Village and Grenada North and has set up the first international chapter of Predator Free Scotland. His efforts, alongside other volunteers, have installed around 400 traps, 35 wasp traps and 40 poison bait stations in the Wellington area.

Wellington moves into Alert Level 4 lockdown With an Aucklander testing positive for COVID-19, Wellington moved into Alert Level 4 lockdown at 11.59pm on a Tuesday for three days, and Wellington City Council will be closing most of its public facing facilities, with many services going online.

During Alert Level 4, guidance from the Government and Ministry of Health stipulates that Council can still provide essential services, but non-essential operations must cease for the safety of staff and the community.

Mayor Andy Foster says it’s very frustrating to be back in this position, but as a city we all need to work together to protect our people, our economy, and our more vulnerable communities.

“For Wellington City Council, Alert Level 4 means our staff and contractors will be following safety protocols to keep themselves and our community safe.

This includes limiting contact with the public and providing more services online or over the phone wherever we can.”

Rubbish will still be collected, but there will be changes to the recycling kerbside collections, says Waste Operations Manager, Emily Taylor-Hall.

“EnviroWaste will not be collecting glass recycling while we are in Level 4. The decision has been made from a health and safety perspective to protect their workers – the Delta variant is much more transmissible from the first round, and glass recycling is predominantly bottles, many of which may carry saliva residue.

“Whilst this may be frustrating, we can’t argue with a measure that essentially has their workers’ health and safety at heart.

Wellington City Council has announced a raft of guidelines for their facilities at alert level 4.

on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday we ask that residents do not put their glass recycling out at the kerbside, as there will be no collections for glass. We ask that residents, if they have space, hold onto their glass crates until the next glass collection in a fortnight’s time - assuming we have returned to a level that allows collection.

“All co-mingled recycling that is in wheelie bins or recycling bags will be collected as per normal, but will be landfilled until the sorting facility in Seaview reopens. Residents should place their bins and bags at the kerbside for normal collections. We do not recommend stockpiling of co-mingled recycling for health and safety reasons.”

The Southern Landfill will be closed to the public but will be open for commercial operators who are carrying out essential services only. The Tip Shop and Recycle Centre will be closed.

Our recreation facilities, libraries, and other community venues will also be closed.

“Under Alert Level 4 people are expected to work from home where possible unless it’s essential, and to stay safe and adhere to recommended health and physical distancing protocols – and most importantly we need to be kind, compassionate and patient,” says Mayor Foster.

“We will continue to provide updates about our services and facilities through all our channels, and remind everyone to follow guidance from the Ministry of Health and COVID-19 team.”

Work on significant construction projects including the T kina Convention Centre, Town Hall, and the St James will also temporarily cease.

Routine or planned maintenance work will stop across the city on our roads, infrastructure and parks and reserves network, along with many smaller construction projects.

With events, activities and venues closed for safety precautions at Alert Level 4, Council encourages everyone to stay active mentally and physically for their

well-being.

While we are expected to stay home unless it is essential, there are lots of online tools for everyone to access through our library services, says Libraries and Community Spaces Manager, Laurinda Thomas.

“While we’re in lockdown there are some great online services you can tap into while you’re staying home – and all you need is a library card. You can learn a language, download an ebook or audiobook, stream a movie, and read newspapers and magazines from all over the globe.

“While Community Centres are closed, staff are still available digitally and over the phone, and can help residents connect in with their local support networks,” adds Laurinda.

David Brown, an electrical apprentice from Karori, came third in the Wellington preliminary round of the Master Electricians Apprentice of the Year Challenge (held at Sky Stadium in Wellington last week.

He was one of 17 apprentices competing on the day - all in the domestic/ commercial division.

“The level of interest in this year’s challenge is the highest ever, with 220 apprentices from across New Zealand signed up,” says Mathew Lawrence, National Operations Manager of the Master Electricians Association.

Each competitor can choose to compete in either the industrial or the commercial/domestic division.

The focus is on the practical, with competitors in the regional rounds having to complete four one-hour modules reflecting the various issues an apprentice might face on the job, such as checking a motor for faults (industrial division) or wiring a switch board (commercial/domestic).

O’Connor puts on rugby boots for good cause Ohariu MP Greg O’Connor put on his rugby boots for the New Zealand Parliamentary rugby team for a game against a Fonterra XV in Ashburton, over the weekend.

The match was organised to raise money for farmers affected by the widespread Canterbury floods earlier this year.

A stacked Fonterra team had former All Blacks Aaron Mauger and Casey Laulala to call upon. The team was coached by Crusaders’ coach Scott Robertson and that firepower helped Fonterra win 51-10.

The event at the Ashburton Showgrounds is expected to raise more than $100,000 once the final tally is confirmed.

The top five of each division will go on to complete five two-hour modules for the top title at the finals in Christchurch on 7 and 8 October – being held in conjunction with the Master Electricians annual conference. The winner of each division and of the Master Electricians Initiative Award will be announced at the conference awards dinner on the Friday evening, 8 October.

“The challenge is a great opportunity for apprentices to put their skills to the test,” says Mathew. “It’s an invaluable learning experience and if they get into the top five of their division there’s the pride of winning and an all-expenses paid trip to Christchurch in October to compete in the finals.

“It shouldn’t be too daunting, as competitors will be given an outline of the modules they will face two weeks before their regional round, so they’ll have time to brush up on the right stuff and make sure they are in with a chance to win.”

Keith Spry Pool upgrade takes shape Johnsonville’s Keith Spry and Kilbirnie Pools set to open this month Stage two of the upgrade at Keith Spry Pool is complete and the main pool will reopen on Monday.

The Kilbirnie Pool will reopen a week later.

The work at Keith Spry has included strengthening the building, replacing the skylights and installing a new acoustic ceiling – plus a lick of paint to brighten things up.

Now that stage two is complete, the final stage of work includes a full upgrade to the accessible changing facilities, as well as building a birthday party room and new public toilets on Frankmoore Avenue. The project is expected to be fully completed by the end of the year.

The main pool at Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre (WRAC) in Kilbirnie will also be reopening on Monday 30 August, after being closed for eight weeks for its five-yearly maintenance.

Works included repair to damaged tiles inside the main pool, replacement of the skylights, refurbishment of the plant and servicing the springboard.

The saunas are up next for a refresh and closure, but there will always be one going at any one time.

a work in progress, but this marks the last of the major closures for both, with final project work having little to low impact on customers.

Meanwhile, with WRAC and the KSP main pools re-opening, this means the extended season at Thorndon will come to an end with the last day being this Sunday.

The popular outdoor pool will be prepped for the summer season starting in October.

While the pool is closed, paid parking will be implemented in the car park. When the summer season starts up again, parking will go back to being free for swimmers to use.

The work on the Johnsonville Line upgrades by KiwiRail is set to ramp up in September and October but can only be done while the power system is turned off and no trains are running.

KiwiRail is about to step-up its maintenance work on the Johnsonville Line in the coming weeks.

KiwiRail will hold an information session on these planned works at the Collective Community Hub at 1/33 Johnsonville Rd on Wednesday August 25 from 6pm to 7.30pm.

Work will include renewal of the overhead power structures, refurbishment of the level crossing at Station Road in Khandallah.

To do this KiwiRail are replacing around 100 of the old wooden overhead masts with steel poles.

The systems were first installed in 1938 and while they have been well maintained they are well overdue for an upgrade.

Since 2007, KiwiRail has been progressively replacing the system as it reaches the end of its useful life.

The modern, traction system will mean more reliable train services and provide a platform for increased services. It will also require reduced maintenance and make our rail network more resilient to future seismic

activity.

The new infrastructure will be installed in different places and look a little different.

There will also be resleepering from Raroa to Johnsonville and culvert and drainage work.

The bulk of that work will happen between October 3 and 9 with no trains operating at that time.

Preparatory work for the overhead traction line equipment renewal will happen between August 31 and September 30 weekdays between 9:30am and 2:30pm and the weekends of September 11 and September 25.

The wider project will also see reinforcing of the steep slopes that line the approach to the tunnel in the Ngaio Gorge.

This work is underway and sees drilling into the banks and installing steel pins to anchor safety netting into place to reduce the chance of slips.

The team are abseiling down from the top of embankments from heights of ten metres to complete these works.

The teams will be drilling 200 holes up to 4m deep to install steel anchors to attach metal netting that will stabilise the slopes.

Four parks dedicated to electric vehicles at Waitohi Community Hub Wellington City Council has adopted the proposal to dedicate four parking spaces with chargers at Waitohi Community Hub to electric vehicles (EV).

Making it easier to use EV vehicles across the city is one way to help reduce Wellington’s carbon emissions, which is a key goal.

In June 2021 the Council asked for peoples’ view on a traffic resolution to

restrict the EV parking spaces to electric cars, with majority of respondents saying they were regularly frustrated to find standard cars using the spaces when they need to charge theirs.

This means only electric vehicles can use the four parking spaces with chargers, for up to 120 minutes at one time. By ensuring the spaces turnover regularly, other EV owners will be able

to charge their cars when they need to.

Temporary signs are in place and permanent signs will be installed in approximately eight weeks.

People can log a call with our contact centre on 04 499 4444 or use the Fix-It Form if petrol cars use the EV spaces.

Fostering the artistic talents of Huntleigh Home residents across the board comes easily to recreation officer Phillippa Nonoa.

Phillippa initially came to Huntleigh Home as a volunteer after she had spent some years caring for her mother.

“My own daughter was grown up and I was looking for a meaningful role. To test the waters, I volunteered at Huntleigh Home for six months. I met recreation team leader Annelize Steyn and gained an appreciation of the holistic and self-motivating approach Enliven’s philosophy of care offers its residents,” says Phillippa.

The Karori local soon realized she could combine her care experience, her background in floral art merchandising, and kindergarten teaching in a permanent role at Huntleigh Home.

“Phillippa quickly grew in confidence as she saw her understanding of elders physical needs enabled her to adapt resources to suit, such as an easier way of making pom poms which were then made into poi,” says Annelize. “While her music skills are great too, art is her passion.”

More than three years on, Phillippa’s weekly art class is going strong.

“Chalk pastel is one of my favourite mediums,” says Phillippa. “It’s demanding of the artist, but I like to be able to move it around the paper until it’s right.”

The members of the Huntleigh Home art class also enjoy the challenge of pastel, as well as using different materials too.

“Over a year we repeat the same subject such as flowers or fruit but explore different mediums, black and white, pencil and watercolours.

So at the end of 2020, Conway began the paperwork to gain his Class 2 licence and under the watchful eye of one of Tranzurban’s driver trainers, overcame initial nerves to settle into the driver’s seat.

Now, after six months on the job, Conway says driving has become second nature.

“Even though I’ve only been driving a short time, my passengers all have a story to tell, and I like hearing their stories. There are wonderful characters out there. A wonderful mix of chaos and calm. My wife has said when I get on my bus, I have the biggest grin on my face.”

Paula replaces Principal Narelle Umbers. Complications of border closures and COVID-19 have led to Narelle’s decision to return to her home city of Melbourne.

“It’s really rewarding to see the progeny of t-tipounamu, transferred to Zealandia from our Wainuiomata Mainland Island, are spreading their wings across a Wellington environment that’s increasingly receptive to native birds because of the commitment of Zealandia, Predator Free Wellington and hundreds of back-yard predator trappers.

It’s a real win from a collective effort” says Greater Wellington’s Dr Philippa Crisp, Team Leader, Land, Ecology and Climate.

Zealandia’s Kari Beaven also noted that this sighting is an incredibly exciting step for a city which is bucking the trend, with the bird community improving rather than declining.

“Sightings just beyond the fence in Wright’s Hill in July were somewhat expected, but a pair being spotted kilometres away from the sanctuary at Te Ah/mairangi Hill this week is extraordinary. It is a testament to the care that Wellingtonians are taking of these precious places” While common around some areas of the country, the last time - ipounamu would have likely been found in Wellington City would have been over 100 years ago. One of two surviving species endemic to the New Zealand wren family, these birds weigh only 6.5 grams, and their high-pitched calls are often inaudible to humans.

Brony Shephard, Zealandia volunteer and Te Ah/ airangi Hill Ecological Restoration coordinator, spotted the - ipounamu. She has been involved since the initial translocation and is familiar with the - pounamu call and initially didn’t believe what she heard.

“I thought I heard them at around 9am in the morning but disregarded it. But at 12:30pm when I was walking back up, I stopped and saw the pair.”

Shephard says “I first visited Te A / mairangi Hill tracking k riki for Zealandia research and was surprised to find this hill as an early dispersal site. I remember

We have an incredible network of people in Wellington weaving their efforts to build a capital teeming with wildlife. I know Wellingtonians care about this taonga and will support it to thrive in its new home.”

While the sightings are an incredible sign, Zealandia’s Dr Danielle Shanahan noted that it is important for Wellingtonians to continue looking after these precious birds.

“Alongside trapping pests and planting native trees, one of the best things you can do for birds in Wellington is to care for your pets in a way that minimises the chance they will encounter native wildlife. This is especially important through the breeding season, which is just around the corner.”

Lockdown Tasks? YIP! Hey everyone! Hope you all made it home and hunkering down for the next few days. With all that is happening in the world, with all the war, covid, disasters etc, I think we are so lucky to be living in this wonderful country. Sure, we aren’t perfect and there is always room for improvement, but I can’t think of any other country I’d rather be in right now.

As we can learn from all that is going on in Australia, we shouldn’t be thinking of everyone being ‘stuck’ at home, rather being ‘safe’ at home. The next 3 day is a perfect chance to get up to speed with any maintenance tasks! Here are a few tasks / home work for your homeowners out there!

1. Clean your gutters! Ok, I’m repeating myself here, but with all the bad weather we’ve had if you haven’t cleaned your gutters yet, you are gambling with your property! So for that one point, here is another reminder!

2. Light fittings – If you haven’t switched to LED, the build-up of dust and dead bugs can be a hazard. Give all your light fitting a good clean! And while you are up there, check your smoke alarms as well.

3. Moved insulation – If it is a cool day head up into your attic space and check all your insulation is in place, don’t leave any gaps! Even the smallest gaps will affect the efficiency of your home.

4. Paint Touch Up – Hopefully, if by some small miracle we have some clear/ dry weather, head on outside and look for cracks in your cladding. Make sure your cladding is in good condition! If you see any fractures, seal them properly and paint over! This ensure your cladding does its job and stays weathertight!

GARDENING THIS WEEK Gardening for health: By Wally Richards Several years ago I wrote a book called Gardening & Health which is out of print now.

The theme of the book was to assist people that had health issues but were not gardeners; to explain to them how to obtain some really healthy home grown food stuffs very simply.

I based the information from my own experiences on what I had learnt and used to greatly improve my own health and well being.

These days we tend to lose sight of what people have done for hundreds of years to be healthy without the need for mega rich pharmaceutical companies.

The best available medicines was the local drug store in which the pharmacist would mix up various concoctions for health complaints.

Most of the stuff they used and sold they no longer have available these days.

One of the first things that I learnt back about 30 years ago was from a book called Sea90 which talked about using the minerals from the Ocean to increase the health of plants.

It also described the benefits that the minerals from the ocean would do to increase the immune system in our bodies and thus our health.

In the book they spoke about wheat grass and barley grass as being two plants which would take up every mineral and element if made available to them in the growing medium.

We now know that raw salt from the Ocean in its pure form has 114 minerals and elements being about 95% sodium chloride and the other 5% the 113 elements in perfect balance with each other.

The penny then dropped as wheat grass juice was a bit of a fade about that time yet the grass in juice bars was quite bitter in taste.

The reason being they were not putting all the minerals into the growing medium.

I had three products that were mineral rich, Magic Botanic Liquid (MBL) which is the minerals from prehistoric times, rock dust

which we now have as Wallys Unlocking Your Soil Potential and Wallys Ocean Solids being raw unrefined salt from the sea.

With this new knowledge I grew some wheat grass in a polystyrene tray; the type that you find used in supermarkets or wholesale fish places.

The tray has a depth of 18cm and with a few holes in the sides near the bottom for drainage they are a great cheap container for growing stuff in.

Filled two thirds full with purchased compost (I prefer Daltons or Oderings as they do not use green waste with herbicide possibilities in the compost).

Then you sprinkle Wallys Ocean Solids over the compost about half a handful along with Wallys Unlocking the soil.

No other manures or foods to be used. Cover the above with about a centimeter of compost and then sprinkle thickly wheat seed over the tray so they are about touching.

It pays to put a sheet of glass over the box as birds or mice may find that there is a lot of wheat to eat.

When I grew the wheat grass in this way with all the mineral the cut grass when juiced in a manual juicer was very sweet. The sweetness denotes the goodness and the nutritional value of the grass.

Another thing I noticed back then is if you obtained about 100mls of green juice and you put 50mls in the fridge covered; that the 50mls you drank straight away would be very sweet but the 50mls in the fridge if you drank it that night it would be a bit bitter. So the juice loses its vitality fairly quickly and is best taken as soon as juiced.

It is said that if you take MSM regularly you will not get cataracts in the eyes which I believe that is correct as my eyesight is far better than it was 30 years ago and according to my eye specialist amazingly good for my age.

The key here is that 60-80 years ago you

would have got your bodies daily requirement of sulphur from your food chain. That no longer happens unless you are growing your own and using the likes of gypsum or Wallys Calcium & Health in your food gardens.

Thirty, forty years ago my health was not good being a heavy smoker and drinker.

Even with the punishment of those vices I found that the wheat grass juice and the MSM greatly assisted in improving my health and back then at 40 I looked more like 80.

Now at 76 people think I am only about in my 50’s.

Of course I stopped drinking and smoking over ten years ago and that has also helped.

With all these funny viruses and variants floating around these days you need to improve your immune system which is just common sense.

Grow some wheat grass in the garden or in trays, add in the minerals as described.

You can either juice it in a manual juicer or put into a high speed blender with any other edible greens and a banana for flavour and whip up a smoothie for first thing into your tummy in the morning.

Bark and Ride trial set for Cable Car Upwardly mobile dogs and downward dogs may become a permanent fixture on the Cable Car if a trial later this month is a howling success and doesn’t send us all barking mad.

The trial letting our canine friends travel on the Capital’s iconic funicular starts on Thursday 26 August to coincide with International Dog Day, and will run until Sunday 26 September where a decision will be made whether to make it a permanent fixture or not.

Cable Car CEO Cesar Piotto says the trial is designed to make the green environment more accessible for the growing number of inner city residents.

“As more people move into the central city, we want them to be able to access the Wellington Botanic Garden ki Paek and green spaces in the area to take their four-legged friends out for walks.

“We feel the Cable Car is uniquely positioned to support the community in this area. We have been working with Animal Control Team and the SPCA, and 75% of survey respondents are supportive of the trial too.”

Metlink to run Saturday timetable during level 4 Following the Government’s alert level 4 announcement, Metlink has confirmed it will start to move to a Saturday timetable for bus and train services as the country enters into Alert Level 4.

Metlink General Manager Scott Gallacher says public transport will continue to be available for essential service workers, and to enable communities to access supermarkets, pharmacies and health facilities in accordance with Government directions.

“The Metlink team are confident that Saturday timetables will be the right fit for the significantly reduced demand, but we will be closely checking things as we all adjust to the new services, and making adjustments where necessary” says Mr Gallacher.

Two metre physical distancing on board services will return and fares will remain in place across the region but cash handling will be removed. Snapper, 10-trip tickets and monthly passes will be the only form of valid fares. Ticket offices at rail stations will also be closed during alert level 4.

“It’s important for us to limit interactions between people during alert level 4 and removing cash takes away the multiple transactions between staff and passengers, keeping everyone safe,” says Scott Gallacher.

Metlink passengers will see the following changes across the network: Ferry services will not operate for the duration of the alert level 4 period.

We want all passengers to continue to provide feedback on the service during this time. They can phone, email, use our website or social media channels to let us know what’s working and what needs to be tweaked,” says Scott Gallacher.

For the peace of mind of all passengers and staff, Metlink has continued its COVID-19 deep

cleaning regime throughout all alert levels, QR codes are in place on all vehicles for contact tracing and face coverings remain mandatory on all services.

“Metlink continues to work closely with Government, unions and operators to ensure the ongoing health and welfare of Metlink’s public transport staff while providing this essential public service to essential workers and our communities,” says Mr Gallacher.

Further updates will be posted on Metlink’s website and app when available.

Cairns conjures childhood memories A large piece of my childhood is pulling for Chris Cairns to make a miraculous recovery from his heart issues which currently see him fighting for his life as I write this.

It was widely reported that Cairns, 51, suffered a heart attack in Canberra last week, resulting in an aortic dissection - a rupture of the aorta.

He has since been transferred to Sydney where he has undergone further surgery.

The 51-year-old has been living a life of obscurity in Canberra since he was found not guilty in 2015 of

lying under oath about match-fixing in a 2012 libel case.

The prosecution argued Cairns cheated at cricket and built its case on testimonies from McCullum and disgraced New Zealand batsman Lou Vincent.

In two London court cases, Cairns has never been proved guilty of match-fixing.

Still, the court cases appear to have taken a toll on his reputation in cricket circles and it’s meant not much has been heard of from arguably New Zealand’s best all

rounder in history.

In his prime, Cairns was a worldclass match-winner with both bat and ball.

Johnsonville RFC honour their best of 2021 The Johnsonville Rugby Football Club has celebrated their best and brightest at their annual awards night.

In premier team awards; Lucas Aukuso won the Kere Gillard Cup for most improved player.

Andy Ellis won the Joe Ellis Cup for most valuable back.

The Eric Powell Trophy for most valuable forward went to prop Ha’amea Ahio.

He also won the Joan Bolderson Albie Cutting Cup: players player of the year The Terry Keogh Cup for best and fairest went to halfback Mark Sutton.

Two emerging, young talents were also recognised with the Morar Cup for the best and fairest under-21 player going to: Aaron Fawkes.

The Callesen and Hutton Cup for the under-21 player of the year went

to Knox Tuinasau.

The Segetin Cup, a team manager award was awarded to Lauren Hannah.

Coaches of the year went to the premier coaching team of Jason Adamson, Serge Hollis, Wes Knoppler and Ben Fisher.

The Kenny Cup for most courage on field went to Andy Ellis and Ha’amea Ahio.

Zyrus Grace won the Chairman Shield as the individual with most points.

Ben Fisher was named club personality of the year Serge Hollis earned the A.I Brider Cup. Susan Poutoa claimed the Timperley Rose Bowl for contribution to the club by a woman while Blair Hannah won the Laurie Cameron Memorial Cup.
