Emma Coleman of Khandallah, a Queen Margaret College student, will see her Wearable Artwork Suffragette gracing the Archives NZ entrance until October 30. This is in celebration of WOW, World of Wearable Arts, to commemorate the Women’s Suffrage Petition. and mark Suffrage Day on September 19. Emma’s design represents a contemporary woman clothed in the symbols of the past using domestic sewing patterns. These symbolise petition pages covered with signatures copied from the original petition. Continued on page 2.
