On Wednesday October 30 John McKinnon of Karori, former Secretary of Defence, spoke at the launch of Elizabeth Kay’s book, Eddie Norman and 25 Battalion. It details his personal experiences, and those of the men of 25 Battalion serving with the New Zealand Division in World War II. The Battalion was drawn from the lower half of the North Island and had one of the highest casualty rates of any. Continued on page 2.
