26 Championship Banners

Not every team gets to play in this Division II invitiation-only tournament. Since becoming a member of NCAA Division II, West Texas A&M has participated in the NCAA Tournament more times than not.

The banners hanging from the rafters of First United Bank Center lend a visual, historical evidence to the fact that the levels of success achieved by the Buff Basketball program are more than mere participation awards.

4 LsC-south Titles 3 honored Jerseys

Since the Lone Star Conference went to a twodivision format prior to the 1997-98 campaign, nobody has won more South Division titles than the Buffaloes.

You recognize outstanding players by displaying their jersey, and West Texas A&M has done such to honor three of its all-time greats; Joe Fortenberry, Reggie Ramey and Maurice Cheeks. Their numbers are present in the North end of the First United Bank Center.

1 nBA Legend At the time of his retirement from the NBA in 1993, Maurice Cheeks was the NBA all-time leader in steals and ranked fifth all-time in assists. But, whether it was as one of the NBAs outstanding guards, leading the Philadelphia 76ers to the 1983 NBA Championship, or as the head coach of first the Portland Trailblazers and later the Philadelphia 76ers, Maurice Cheeks (1974-78) was, and always will be, a Buffalo.

MEDIA INFORMATION MEDIA INFORMATION

The West Texas A&M University Athletics Media Relations staff welcomes all media members to the 2014-15 season of Buffalo Basketball. It is our intent that the following information will help you cover the Buffs throughout the 2014-15 season.

MEDIA CREDENTIALS

Requests for working media credentials must be made through the WTAMU Athletic Media Relations office. Requests must be submitted on official news outlet letterhead and received at least 24 hours in advance of the game to be covered. The Amarillo GlobeNews and The Canyon News receive reserved seating on press-row. The Buffalo Sports Network and the recognized visiting radio station will be provided a broadcast location. Other reserved seating will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. Season credentials will be delivered prior to the first game.

PRESS ROW SERVICES

Complete team and individual statistics, scoring summaries, and play-by-play will be provided by the WTAMU Athletic Media Relations Office immediately following the game. Internet access is available on media row. Access to wireless internet requires a proper authorization code which will be provided before first serve by the Athletic Media Relations staff.

NON-GAMEDAY INTERVIEWS

Coach Brown and select players will be available during a weekly interview session set up by the WTAMU Athletic Media Relations office at a time and place to be determined. Interviews may also be conducted prior to practice if prior arrangements are made. To arrange all non-game day interviews, please contact the WTAMU Athletic Media Relations office at least 24 hours prior to desired time.

POSTGAME INTERVIEWS

PHOTOGRAPHERS

All photographers covering a game must display appropriate credentials at all times and are expected to comply with any instructions given by game officials or WT Athletics employees. NCAA rules prohibit photographers from being in the team areas and the use of tripods is restricted to the ends of the court.

Following all home games, Coach Tom Brown and selected players will be available for interviews following their interview obligations to 98.7 JackFM. Please notify Zac Briley of any interview requests during the final 5 minutes of the game or immediately following. For road games, please contact Zac Briley to set up a phone interview.
