West Texas A&M made program history again on Saturday, March 10, 2018, as the top ranked Lady Buffs claimed the first NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championship in program history as they registered 53 total points including a pair of individual National Champions and 10 All-Americans honors at the Robert W. Plaster Center in Pittsburg, Kansas. 6
Rellie Kaputin finished her career as the most decorated track and field athlete in school history. She accumulated 11 All-American honors and is a 3 time Individual Event National Champion. She led West Texas A&M to 2 NCAA Team Championships (Outdoor 2017, Indoor 2018).
