consecutive LSC regular-season championship, as well as winning the NCAA South Central Region Championship. The Lady Buffs have won either the Lone Star Conference regular-season or LSC Tournament title nine times since 1997. They won both titles in 2001 and 2008. And, during 2001, the Lady Buffs made their first-ever NCAA Division-II National Tournament appearance. WT has won a conference leading five LSC Championships and made 13 appearances in the single elimination field with nine appearances in the finals. Following a brilliant four-year playing career with the Buffs, Webb served one season as a student assistant under Butch Lauffer before serving another four seasons as a graduate assistant. During his playing career with the Buffaloes, from 1992-1995, Webb scored 10 goals and provided 20 assists while also serving as the Buffs’ captain. As a junior, he earned a berth on the second-team Adidas all-West Region Academic list. Webb, a native of Lubbock, Texas, holds a USSF “A” license, has been active in the community as the Director of Coaching for Amarillo Lightning and enjoys developing youth soccer talent in the Texas Panhandle. He conducts many soccer camps and clinics throughout the area each year, and, in 2002, was named Coach of the Year for the North Texas State Soccer Association. He earned both his bachelor’s (1998) and master’s (2002) degrees in Mass Communication from WTAMU. Webb lives in Amarillo with his wife, Joy, their two children, Autumn and Samuel, along with their many dogs.

Chad Webb enters his fourth season at the helm of the Lady Buff soccer team after being introduced as the second head women’s soccer coach in program history on January 13, 2010 as the duties of men’s and women’s head coach were split due to the success of both programs. Webb was previously an assistant to Butch Lauffer for 14 seasons, after a tremendous four year career as a Buffalo in the mid 90’s. He guided the Lady Buffs to an outstanding season in 2012 as the team went 13-7-1, winning both the regular season and conference tournament championships en route to the NCAA Tournament for the first time under Webb and first since 2009. The 2011 campaign saw the Lady Buffs fight through numerous season ending injuries to make their 14th appearance in the Lone Star Conference Tournament as the #6 seed. WT topped Eastern New Mexico in the Quarterfinals before falling to Midwestern State in OT to end their season with a 9-10-1 overall record. 2010 saw the Lady Buffs register an 8-7-3 overall record and finish seventh in the Lone Star Conference standings with a 4-6-1 mark, missing the conference tournament by one spot. Before taking control of the Lady Buffs in 2010, Webb had been an assistant coach with the women’s soccer program for 13 seasons, where his main responsibilities revolved around the everyday operations and coaching of the program. He handled the bulk of the recruiting duties for the Lady Buffs, while also assisting with the Buffalo men’s team, as well. The Lady Buffs enjoyed a very successful 2009 campaign, as they advanced to the Elite Eight for the first time in school history and recorded a 15-3-4 overall record. WT hosted both the LSC Tournament and NCAA Preliminary Rounds for the second consecutive season and won its second-

LADY BUFF SOCCER ALL-AMERICANS
Sarit Shenar is one of the most talented players to come through the Lady Buff women’s soccer program in school history. She is the program’s leader in every offensive category, for both season and career totals and she holds the top three spots in ports per season (60 in 2006, 58 in 2004 and 47 in 2003) and goals per season (24 in 2004, 22 in 2006 and 21 in 2003. She also holds two of the top three spots in assists per season with 16 in 2006 which is tops in the school’s annals and 10 in 2004 which was good for third. In her first season at WTAMU, Shenar earned a host of honors from the region and the conference. She was named NSCAA All-Midwest Region Second Team, All-Lone Star Conference Tournament team, All-LSC Tournament MVP and All-LSC First Team. Her 21 goals and 47 points were the most of any Lady Buff to that point. As a sophomore, she became the first Lady Buff to earn NSCAA first team All-America accolades (the program’s second All-American). She was a first team AllMidwest Region selection, first team All-LSC honoree and was the LSC Offensive Player of the Year. Additionally, Shenar was named to the LSC All-Tournament team and the LSC All-Academic Team. She surpassed her own goals and points records by scoring 24 goals and 58 points. Shenar was named LSC Preseason Player of the Year prior to her junior year, which ended in early October due to a knee injury. Despite playing in only nine matches, she made enough of an impact on the squad’s success to earn first team CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District honors, as well as LSC Academic All-legaue accolades. Her senior year was Shenar’s most prolific-she was named LSC Offensive and Academic Athlete of the Year, first team CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District, NSCAA All-Midwest Region and first team NSCAA All-America. She tallied 22 goals and
16 assists for a total of 60 points, placing herself in first, second and third in WT’s points per season records. Shenar’s spots for goals per season and her 16 assists put her first in assists per season, as well. Shenar was inducted into the 2012 WTAMU Hall of Champions earlier this year as she continued her soccer career professionally playing for the Hamburger S.V., in Bundesliga, Germany in 2007-08 and then began playing for the Sonderjysk Elitesport A/S in Denmark in 2008.

Midfielder Kathy Clutterbuck-Nor had a prolific junior season in 2001, after which she was honored as West Texas A&M’s first women’s soccer All-American. She was honored as a member of the NSCAA All-America Third Team, in addition to being named NSCAA All-Midwest Region First Team and All-Lone Star Conference First Team. She was just as successful off the pitch as she was one of five Lady Buffs to earn a place on the LSC Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll. The Toronto, Ontario, native finished her four-year Lady Buff career in 2002 with 25 goals and 17 assists, including seven goals and eight assists as a senior. She was named NSCAA All-Midwest Region Second Team, All-Lone Star Conference Tournament team and an All-LSC First Team honoree. She helped lead her team to a 53-19-5 record and made the Lone Star Conference Tournament each of her four years. Clutterbuck-Nor was inducted into the WTAMU Hall of Champions in 2010.
Leslie Briggs completed her WT career this past season in outstanding form as she earned NSCAA Second Team All-America accolades. The Carrollton, Texas, native had an impressive senior campaign as she was the only Lone Star Conference student-athlete to make any of the NSCAA All-America teams and she was a first team Daktronics All-America selection. Briggs was the only LSC student-athlete to earn NSCAA South Central Region first team accolades and Briggs was the Daktronics South Central Region Player of the Year as she led the Lady Buffs to the Lone Star Conference regular season and conference tournament championship. She was named LSC Offensive Player of the Year and took home LSC Tournament MVP honors as she scored three goals and two game winners, including the championship-clinching goal in double-overtime against Incarnate Word. She led the team with 19 goals, seven assists and 45 points. Briggs ranked third nationally in goals and fourth in points, as well as seventh in game winners with six. She had a conference-best 119 shots with 47 on frame. Briggs finishes her WT career in just two seasons as she is fourth all-time in goals in a season (19 in 2012) and 30 goals for her career ranking fifth all-time. Her 45 points in 2012 ranks her tied fof fourth in points in a season and her 71 career points ranks sixth all-time.

THE LONE STAR CONFERENCE Long known as a leader in intercollegiate athletics, the Lone Star Conference (LSC) is an innovative athletics conference that aims to provide a superior competitive experience for member institutions and to allow for comprehensive development of student-athletes through academic services and life skills programming. The LSC continues to build upon its proud history while intending to be recognized as the premier NCAA Division II conference in the nation. The league’s mission is to foster student participation and success among member institutions in Division II intercollegiate athletics as an integral part of each institution’s total educational program. The LSC strives for academic excellence, stresses involvement within the community, and prides itself in upholding traditions while continually seeking new opportunities to provide student-athletes with a unique and superior experience. The LSC - founded on April 25, 1931 - has developed from a five-team conference of Texas-based schools to a nine-member league that spans three states (Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico). The league continues to assist its member institutions in the maintenance of intercollegiate athletic programs that are compatible with the highest standards of education and competitive sports.
Throughout the league’s 82-year history, various institutions have competed under the LSC banner. Today, only Texas A&M UniversityCommerce (then East Texas State) remains from the original group that was formed in 1931 when North Texas State, Southwest Texas State, Sam Houston State and Stephen F. Austin withdrew from the old Texas Intercollegiate Athletic Association. The membership alignment has changed over the years, with current members having been added from 1954 to 1995. Texas A&M-Kingsville (formerly Texas A&I) joined in 1954, and Angelo State in 1968. Conference membership remained within the Texas borders until 1984 when Eastern New Mexico was admitted. Since then, the LSC has included members from Arkansas and Oklahoma. Cameron (1988, 1996) was added near the outset of an expansion phase, while Texas Woman’s (1989) and previous members West Texas A&M (1986, 1993) and Tarleton State (1968, 1994) joined the league soon after. Midwestern State was admitted early in 1995, while Harding reconnected with the league as an affiliate member in track and field in 2013. Past members of the LSC include Trinity,
Houston, Lamar, Howard Payne, Sul Ross State, McMurry, Harding, Ouachita Baptist, Central Oklahoma, East Central (Okla.), Northeastern State (Okla.), Southeastern Oklahoma, Southwestern Oklahoma, Abilene Christian and Incarnate Word. While the LSC has maintained a long-standing tradition of competitive athletic programs for its members, many teams and individuals have gone on to distinguish themselves on the national stage. Entering 2013-14, LSC member institutions have collected 74 NCAA national championships since the league joined the Division II membership in 1982. The LSC conducts conference championships in 16 sports (seven men and nine women). Men’s championships include football, cross country, basketball, baseball, indoor track and field, outdoor track and field and golf. Women’s titles are determined in volleyball, soccer, cross country, basketball, softball, indoor track and field, outdoor track and field, tennis and golf. The conference office is located in Richardson, Texas, a northern suburb of Dallas. Stan Wagnon serves as Commissioner, with assistance from Jay Poerner (Compliance) Melanie Robotham (Media Relations) and Tommy Wright (Corporate Sales and Marketing).
