Residential Life at Washington University in St. Louis would like to welcome you all home to campus! Residential Life is a resource for you as residents for any housing needs you may have. We are excited to have you join us in August and can’t wait to get to know all of you by name and story.
To assist you with your move to campus, we have prepared this Move-In Guide to give you important information about the logistics of your move. Please read this guide carefully to ensure a smooth experience on Move-In Day.

IMPORTANT TO DO LIST:
☐ Review the University Student Conduct Code at wustl.edu.
☐ Review Residential Life Policies and Procedures at students.wustl.edu.
☐ Complete your immunization paperwork and submit to WashU’s Habif Health and Wellness Center. You must provide proof of immunizations and health history prior to moving into campus housing.
☐ If you are delivering packages to campus, make sure to follow the guidelines provided by WashU’s Mail Services at mailservices.wustl.edu.
☐ View your room assignment and roommate information by logging into your WashU Housing Portal via WebSTAC.
☐ Get in touch with your roommate(s) and start coordinating items you may want to share and bring for your room. Make sure to consult the lists on the next page before making any decisions.
☐ Check your WashU email frequently for important information concerning Move-In Day. Each student will have a specific date and time to move-in. This date and time are selected on the WashU Housing Portal.

PACKING FOR COLLEGE
You don’t need to pack your entire room to come to college, but you’ll want to make sure you don’t forget the little things you currently use in your daily life. As you plan your packing list, review the below information about important items to bring, as well as prohibited items.

RESIDENCE HALL MAKE UP
▶ Modern Residence Halls: Consist of double, triple, and single rooms with most layouts consisting of two double rooms adjoined by a restroom.
▶ Traditional Residence Halls: Consist of double, triple, and single rooms, and each floor shares common restrooms. Some are configured with a shared restroom.
▶ Residence Halls also have study rooms, computer labs, community lounges, kitchens, and music practice rooms.

MOVE-IN DAY PROCEDURES: August 18 and August 19
Arrive to our check-in location on your move-in date and time. Volunteers will direct you to park. Students will exit their vehicle at the check-in location, go inside, and receive their room keys. All other individuals will stay inside the vehicle. 1

Once students have returned to their vehicle with their room keys and Parking Placard, ensure that the placard is on the dashboard. Drive to the unloading zone for your building by following the designated path.
Once you arrive at your unloading zone, unload your vehicle. Drivers should never exit their vehicle and should relocate their vehicle to long-term parking as soon as all belongings are unloaded. Students should stay with their belongings, have their one-time moving ticket ready, and wait for our team of professional movers to move their items into their room.
You did it! Unpack, get comfortable, eat, meet the students on your floor, and be present for your required residential community floor meeting at 8:00 p.m. 4

CHECK-IN
CHECK-IN LOCATION:
Students will check in at Tisch Commons located on the main level of the Danforth University Center. This will be your first stop for our move-in process. Danforth University Center is located at 6475 Forsyth Blvd, St. Louis, MO, 63105. Short-term parking will be available in Zone 2 in Lot 35 (Simon Hall Lot).

PARKING AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
LONG-TERM PARKING LOCATIONS:
Parking will be available in Zone 1 (East End Garage) and Zone 2 (DUC Garage). There will be no long-term parking on the South 40.
For GPS instructions for long-term parking: East End Garage: 6332 Forest Park Pkwy, St. Louis, MO, 63130
From the South 40, turn right to drive north on Big Bend Blvd, turn right once you reach Forst Park Pkwy, and then turn right onto Hoyt Dr., and drive down the ramp to the garage.
Danforth University Center (DUC) Garage: 6475 Forsyth Blvd, St. Louis, MO, 63105
Parking Placard:
It is important that you have a completed Parking Placard placed on the dashboard of your vehicle after receiving it at check-in. This must stay on the dashboard in the vehicle throughout the entire move-in period, including while at long-term parking.
