How WashU makes it work for you financially.

Did you know that WashU’s average financial assistance award is $65,000?

That means your aid award could be greater than the cost of our tuition.

All you need to do is apply for financial assistance, and we’ll consider you for all types of need-based aid. We’ll also waive your application fee.

We meet 100% of demonstrated need for all admitted students.

We provide no-loan awards for all undergraduate students. This means we replace loans with additional university grants and scholarships in all financial assistance awards.

We don’t consider home equity when determining financial assistance awards.

The WashU Pledge covers the cost of tuition, fees, housing, and food for all four years for qualifying students from Missouri and southern Illinois.

We have a need-blind admission policy for all first-year applicants who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents—meaning we do not consider your ability to pay when making admission decisions.

These initiatives are part of our commitment to ensuring that all admitted students can obtain a world-class WashU education without going into debt.
