Areas permitting 12, 16 and 24 storeys may be permitted a further increase in four storeys where development retains building height hierarchy and is close to public transport stops The asterisk area is permitted up to 24 storeys as a marker building The four storeys in the central service trades area may increase to 5 storeys at Townshend Street and Colbee Court or Dundas Court intersections, and to 6 storeys facing Altree Court.

Active frontage requirements for new development: - Requires windows and public entryways for pedestrian access - Requires awnings for all weather access Intended to encourage commercial development facing public areas for improved amenity and security Highlighted parking areas will be required to retain or replace the current level of public car parking as part of any development.
DV344 Woden Town Centre – Solar access • Requirement for reasonable solar access to be retained for the town square and pedestrian spine • Solar access can be retained through building heights, changes to built form • The figure also shows a proposed road connection and area required to be landscaped as part of development of the block.

DV345 Mawson Group Centre – Building heights • The central area without nominated heights is limited to two storeys • Buildings around the perimeter are permitted to 4, 6 and 8 storeys as noted • The area noted as 2 storeys may be permitted up to 4 provided solar access is retained to the central courtyard area • The grey car parking areas will be required to retain or replace the current level of public parking as part of any development.

Future residential development limited to areas ‘a’ and ‘b’ Development in area ‘a’ will need to provide vehicle access to Athllon Drive at Melrose Drive Areas ‘a’ and ‘b’ will need to protect the active travel path connecting Mawson to Woden Building heights are 6 storeys facing Athllon Drive, down to 3 storeys in area ‘a’ and 4 storeys in area ‘b’. The division (suburb) boundary (in red) will be relocated to the Athllon Drive centreline.
