Main awards sponsor Cambria Maintenance Services Cambria staff help transform an empty warehouse into a new depot for Cardiff Foodbank.

Cambria Maintenance Services Ltd (Cambria) was established in 2010 and now undertakes a wide range of housing maintenance works across the whole of Wales for Wales & West Housing (WWH).

The quality of repair and maintenance services is the main way any landlord is judged by its tenants. Cambria provides a mechanism to achieve quality and customer focus whilst also delivering efficiencies. The values of Cambria mirror those of WWH – Fair, Open, Responsible, Supportive and Efficient – and run through everything that they do on a strategic, as well as day to day, basis. As an example Cambria is an accredited Living Wage employer.

As well as providing a great repairs and maintenance service, Cambria is also supporting local good causes. Volunteers from Cambria South recently undertook a 48-hour makeover for Cardiff Foodbank, fitting out new premises with purpose-built racking. And Cambria North is supporting the charity Walk on Wales which is raising funds for the Welsh Guards Afghanistan Appeal and Combat Stress, in memory of the 50 Welsh Guardsmen who have died on active service since the end of World War II.

James Williams Singer & Entertainer James Williams was born in Pontypridd, South Wales – just like his idol, Tom Jones. Singing was not James’ first choice of career. He was always keen on sport and loved both football and rugby. However, he decided to pursue golfing as a career and, as with everything he does, was extremely successful. He became a professional golfer and played for Wales in the European Challenge Tour. His golfing took him all over the world and James would entertain the teams whilst on tour, becoming known as the ‘singing golfer’.

Although James loved his time as a professional golfer, when faced with the choice of continuing with the sport he loved or marrying the beautiful woman he had fallen in love with, he did not hesitate – he chose Natalie and they are now married and have two beautiful children. Although he came into the music industry relatively recently, James’ career has gone from strength to strength and, helped by his performances on a recent television series, he is now one of the most sought after singers in Wales.

For further information about James visit www.welshstars.co.uk or James’ official Facebook page www.facebook.com/ JamesWilliamsSinger

We’ve been looking for people who go that extra mile in reducing, reusing and recycling - or perhaps growing their own fruit and veg for the first time. This award is all about celebrating those simple steps that can result in big changes for the better when it comes to being ‘greener’.
