TACTEL® The innovative polyamide fibre TACTEL® from INVISTA™ creates motorcycle garment that is soft, supplely smooth, breathable and lightweight. According to rigid testing, TACTEL® fiber is at least twice as soft and 20 percent lighter than most other fibers. It also dries eight times faster than cotton. In addition to being soft and lightweight, TACTEL® fiber is strong. The inherent strength of TACTEL® fiber enables the production of fabrics that are three times as strong as those made with natural fibers.

consists of 4 elements: 1. Outer fabric: Materials on the outer jacket ensure the safe function of abrasion resistance and of visibility. It consists of versatile textile materials or leather. 2. Membrane: Membranes guarantee a 100 % weather protection. You do not get in touch with rain and wind. Furthermore, the sweat absorption lets you feel dry.

3. Inner Lining: The lining ensures a comfortable wearing. During colder days you will stay warm.

Leather tanned or textile equipped according to the TFL Cool System® reflects the sunlight and therefore remains comfortably cool for longer in sunshine – this greatly improves wearing comfort! The temperature difference compared with normal leather/ textile can be as much as 12°C. In addition, TFL leather is more lightfast and remains attractive for longer. Only use colourless leather/textile-care products, as pigments and dyes can destroy the cooling effect. Spray the TFL leather/textile occasionally with a waterproofing impregnator. Then the cooling effect will be ensured.

4. Protectors: Protectors or foams are included and accompany you. They are located at crash Zones, like on elbows, shoulders and back in jackets. Some protector pockets allow you to adjust the position of the protector. For garment with removable membrane and inner lining you have a lot of possibilities to combine:We recommend you to remove the lining at warmer days. If it stays dry, remove the membrane, too. If you open the ventilation zips, the garment ensures you a perfect ventilation. If it gets colder and wet, lining and membrane can be easily zipped in again. Then you will stay dry and warm along your ride.

DuPont™ KEVLAR® DuPont™ Kevlar® fibers are used to help provide strength, flexibility, and lightweight protection in everything from yarns. DuPont™ Kevlar® aramid fiber is used to make clothing safe and cut resistant. It’s lightweight and extraordinarily strong, with five times the strength of steel on an equal-weight basis. Furthermore, Kevlar® is heat- and fire resistant.

NANO-TEX® Nano-Tex is manufacturer of nanotechnological materials, whose surface refinements achieve various characteristics. The most important one is the fact, that the materials are dirt and water repellent. Besides, the products of Nano-Tex correspond to eco standard 100.

[ 1 ] OUTER FABRIC CORDURA® Cordura® is a particularly high-quality polyamide fabric, manufactured from fibres that have been cut, respun and finally woven to a fabric. Significantly more resistant to abrasion than the majority of other nylon materials and can therefore provide a degree of protection in the event of a fall. This tear- and abrasion resistant material shows different thread size (known under the acronym D = Denier). Modeka only works with Cordura® which has least a thread size of 500 D. This ensures a high security standard. The highest thread size of 1000 D Cordura® is used for protecting the crash zones.

CORDURA® AFT The AFT short for ‘air flow technology’ points out the enhanced riding comfort that is experienced especially in hot climates. In contrast to woven Cordura®, Cordura(R) AFT is knitted to form a mesh structure, resulting in a fabric, whose air permeability is 1.8 times higher than that of regular Cordura®. The abrasion resistance is on same high level. For comparison: In abrasion resistance Cordura® AFT exceeds normal Nylon two-times, Polyesterfabric four-times and cotton even seven-times.

SCHOELLER®-DYNATEC Schoeller®-Dynatec is a hard wearing fabric with good protective properties and a high level of stability. It is pleasant to the touch, can cope with heavy demands and has an attractive appearance.

SCHOELLER® KEPROTEC® Schoeller® Keprotec® has been developed for motor cycling. That is why it is a high technical fabric, which is extremely abrasion-proof. It offers very good protection like leather against heat and friction, but offers more comfort than leather. The fabric is composed of Cordura®, Dynafil TS 70, Kevlar® and polyurethan. The material corresponds to Eco-Tex Standard 100.

SUPERFABRIC® SuperFabric® technology is composed of 32 % polyester and 68 % epoxy. This mixture of materials offers high comfort und combines the positive characteristics of leather like cut resistance und abrasion proof. Especially in gloves the material is used for knuckle protection.

3M SCOTCHLITE™ 3M Scotchlite™ enhances the visibility of bikers extremely at twilight and darkness. The reflective materials have an open, wide return beam system out of catadioptric crystal balls. Other reflective materials need directly crossed light to function because of its structure. 3M Scotchlite™ reflects light in a brilliant white way although no light impacts. Silver 3M Scotchlite™ outranges even the highest European standards according to simulated severe rain fall.

MATERIAL GLOSSARY AVERTEX Avertex is defined as an abrasion-proof fabric on polyester base which is used for protective clothing. Furthermore, water- and dirt-repellent characteristics can be achieved, too.

AVERTEX PLUS Avertex is defined as an highly abrasion-proof fabric composed of polyamide 6.6 fibres which is used for premium motorcycle clothing. It is easy to clean and water- and dirt-repellent characteristics can be achieved.

HITENA™

Innovative Outlast® lining material provides enhanced comfort by absorbing and releasing warmth to the body as needed. The result is a constant thermal balance. - comfortable - less overheat - less freezing - less sweat - consistent heat dissipation - active temperature balance

Hitena™ is made from a mixture of technical polyamide fibres, which ensure great long-term resistance against wear, tear and dirt. It is a very strong material, got a soft touch and weights less than normal polyamid.

COOLMAX® SICHERHEITSNAHT NACH ISO 4916 Good motorcycle clothing should give the wearer the best possible protection in the event of an accident. But when sliding across rough asphalt, an abrasion-resistant outer material only helps if the seams can also withstand this extreme stress. Therefore, the material layers hold together even when the visible seam is worn away.

3M THINSULATE™

[ 2 ] MEMBRANE Membrane ensure that the motorcycle garment stays 100 % waterproof, 100 % windproof and breathable. The waterproofness of the membrane is measured on the basis of the water column under the pressure of which the material starts to allow water through it. According to EN 343 a membrane is waterproof if it can resist a pressure of 1,300 mm. Modeka uses following membranes which exceed the minimum water column value: - Sympatex®-Membrane with a water column of > 45.000 mm - Humax®-Membrane with a water column of 7.000 mm - Hipora®-Membrane with a water column of 5.000 mm - Reissa®-Membrane with a water column of 4.000 mm - Hitex®-Membrane with a water column of 2.500 mm

SYMPATEX® The Sympatex® membrane is a non-porous membrane which functions solely according to physiochemical principles. The hydrophilic (water-attracting) elements of the Sympatex® membrane absorb moisture (transpiration) in the form of vapour from the body and transport it from the inside to the outside. What is special about this process is that the Sympatex® membrane adapts to the increasing level of exercise, offering dynamic breathability. Breathability can also be measured by the RET value (Resistance Evaporation Transmission). A RET value of less than 6 is described as very good breathability. The Sympatex membrane achieves absolutely top values with RET values of up to 0.5. The membrane weights 30 g per jacket and 2 g per shoe. The non-porous structure of the compact hydrophilic membrane ensures optimal climate control and keeps drops of water (rain) away at the same time. The membrane is only 1/100 mm thick, 100% waterproof, windproof and fully breathable. According to EN 343 the Sympatex® membrane far exceeds these values and is extremely waterproof with a water column of over 45,000 mm. All these characteristics enable to be active outside independent from weather conditions. Furthermore, the Sympatex® functional textile is made of polyether and polyester that represents no health hazard and is therefore absolutely environmentally friendly and skin friendly and recyclable.

Thinsulate insulation works by trapping air molecules between you and the outside. The more air a material traps in a given space, the greater it´s insulating value. Because the microfibres in Thinsulate insulation are far finer than other fibres, they trap more air in less space, which naturally makes it a better insulator. Thinsulate™ is used in Modeka gloves.

[ 4 ] PROTEKTOREN SAS-TEC®-Protectors HÖCHSTE SCHLAGDÄMPFUNGSWERTE UND BESTER TRAGEKOMFORT Viscoelastic foam with memory effect: After an impact or any kind of deformation the foam (protector) returns to its original shape within shortly. Multi impact compliant: Unlike many other dampening materials (such as styrofoam (EPS), silicone or foam of inferior quality) our PU-foam is multi impact compliant. Thus impacts or high pressure do not destroy the protector even when the same area is affected repeatedly. The protector keeps its full functional capability. Comfort: The high flexibility of our foam ensures outstanding comfort. Excellent residual forces: The CE-approved protectors of SAS-TEC remain up to 50 per cent below the legal values of the norm EN 1621. Lightweight: high absorbability despite low density. Hard shell protectors or materials containing silicone are considerably more heavy which reduces the wearing comfort. The density of our SAS-TEC foam is about 280 g/l, hard shells in contrast have an average density of 1050 g/l. Adaptive absorption: The air which is embedded in the foam´s cells provoke a progressive absorption. The protector remains soft in case of slowly increasing forces, however when it comes to a fast heavy impact the resistance of the foam grows with increasing speed. In impulse responding behaviour: Contrary to hard shell protectors, styrofoam damper or many other dampening materials, SAS-TEC foam reacts promptly and without any time delay even to minor impacts. The energy absorption goes almost linear, which keeps the impact forces to the human body at a low level. Long product life Some manufacturers of body protection only indicate a product life of two to three years for their articles, whereas SAS-TEC foam comes with a life expectancy of ten years. Washable (hand wash): The cell structure of our SAS-TEC foam keeps water from entering the material — the water absorption is below one per cent. Therefore hand wash can be recommended without hesitation.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR TEXTILE GARMENTS 1. Please remove all integrated protectors and foams before cleaning. 2. Close all velcros and zippers. 3. Please consider the care label in your Modeka-Product. 4. We recommend hand wash only. Use only special detergent, e.g. Hey Tex-Wash (guaranteed without softener).. 5. Air dry your garments. Do not use the tumble dryer. 6. To extend the durability and to keep the functional efficiency of your garments, please impregnate your textile garments after each washing with an adequate textile care products. We recommend you to use Modeka textile spray.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR LEATHER GARMENTS AND/OR LEATHER/TEXTILE COMBINATIONS 1. Air the clothing well and remove dirt with a soft brush after each usage. 2. Do not wash your leather garments in a machine and/or do not spin dry. Use only special detergent, e.g. Hey Combi-Wash (guaranteed without softener and bleach). 3. Air dry your garments (do not use tumble dryer, do not dry at heating or into the sun). 4. To extend the durability and to keep the functional efficiency of your garments, please impregnate your leather garments after each cleaning with an adequate leather care product. We recommend you to use Modeka leather spray.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR GLOVES

PFLEGETIPPS

1. Do not wash the gloves in a machine but by hand with a special leather- and textile detergent carefully. 2. Wash in clean water afterward (repeat if necessary). 3. Do not wring wet gloves. Wrap the gloves in a dry cloth and squeeze them. Airdry the gloves (no heating, no tumble dryer or direct sunlight). 4. Put on the nearly dry gloves to take them back into shape. 5. To extend the durability and to keep the functional efficiency, please impregnate the gloves after each cleaning with an adequate leather-/textile care product. We recommend you to use Modeka textile and leather spray.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR BOOTS 1. Dry wet boots at room temperature on the tensioner (make the boots with the sole up on, can allow the water between lining and upper material easily escape) or fill your boots with newspaper paper. 2. Remove dust and dirt with a suitable brush or a cloth. 3. Impregnate your boots regularly to reduce the soaking the leather. We recommend the Modeka leather spray. 4. Let the boots dry and polish the boots with a soft cloth.
