The future of bleach has arrived. The professional lifting technology means Light Master delivers lighter results, faster than ever because it contains intelligent light boosters. This releases oxygen earlier to give a lift that is quick yet controlled. The Conditioning Panthenol means that condition is not comprised. The violet toner balances neutralisation of warm yellow undertones giving clean results. The conditioning formula is enriched with Panthenol and helps to respect the hair fibre.

It’s all about Make sure you take advantage of Matrix Education and learn all you can about light master HEALTH AND SAFETY At Matrix our aim is to work in partnership with you to create beautiful hair, with the safety of you, your staff and all of your clients in mind. We invest deeply in research and development to create the latest in new product innovation. Our products should always be used according to the safety instruction leaflet accompanying the product and in our education technical guides. Following these instructions, along with the recommended best practice at all times in your salon, will help ensure not only best results but a safe environment for everyone every day. Matrix has designed a 3 step “Professional safety” protocol, which will enable you to manage your clients’ colour experience and determine the need to carry out an ALLERGY alert test. Refer to your safety booklet for more information. NOTE: If you do not follow the 3-step professional safety protocol an ALLERGY alert test must be done 48 hours before each application every time. Hair colourants can cause an allergic reaction, which in certain rare cases may be severe for you and your client. It is therefore essential to follow these precautions:

POWERFUL HIGH-sPEED LIGHTENER

• Wear suitable disposable gloves during the preparation, application and rinsing of the product. DO NOT USE a hair colourant product if: • Your client has previously experienced a reaction to hair colourants. • Your client is under 16 years of age. • Your client has a rash on their face or a sensitive, irritated and damaged scalp. • Check for tattoos and permanent make-up. • Black Henna Tattoos: Check with your client, if he/she has ever had, even once, a black henna tattoo as he/she may have become allergic without knowing it. Never use this product unless you have done the ALLERGY ALERT TEST 48 hours before use. • If your client has had an allergic reaction to any type of skin tattoo including henna or permanent make-up, the risk of allergy may be greater. IN EVERY CASE, AN ALLERGY alert test MUST BE DONE 48 HOURS BEFORE EACH APPLICATION OF THIS HAIR COLOURANT, AS AN ALLERGY CAN DEVELOP SUDDENLY EVEN THOUGH YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY APPLIED COLOURANT ON YOUR CLIENT. How to carry out an allergy alert test: • Remove any earrings. Using a cotton bud, apply a little of the unmixed colourant product you intend to use behind the ear. Apply sufficient product to cover 1cm - 2cm. Re-apply 2 or 3 times allowing it to dry between each application. Leave for 48 hours without washing, covering or touching. • If during the course of this period you or your client notice any abnormal reaction such as intense itching, redness or swelling in or around the test area DO NOT APPLY THE COLOURANT. Recommend that your client seeks medical advice before any further colour applications are made. Furthermore, when using technical products and in cases of prolonged exposure to water: • Wear suitable disposable gloves during the preparation, application and rinsing of the product. After application: For technical products, discard any leftover mixtures immediately. They cannot be kept or used again. For safe storage and disposal of waste see the COSHH booklet and Matrix product guide. 5. Rinse, cleanse lightly, treat with Total Results 5+ Protopak® and apply final colour formula according to instructions.

Tell

• Check progress every 3-5 minutes until hair reaches the tone of the underlying pigment at the desired level of lightness. • Colour that has been freshly applied (within 48 hours) is easier to remove and may therefore not require a very strong formula strength.

mastery point: • Be sure to recondition and treat hair with your appropriate Matrix haircare range.

CREATIVE SERVICE IDEAS FOR ALL OF YOUR CLIENTS Your typical Colour Chameleon client

Alex previously had COLORINSIDER 5RR+ one month ago. She likes to change her hair colour more often than her cut. To maintain Alex’s fantastic condition and lasting red colour it is important to always consider the condition of the hair you’re working with and while carrying out colour correction include interim treatments during the colouring service.

For the best Light Master results, don’t mix for the consistency! You get the cleanest results when you measure correctly using the recommended mixing ratios and timings!

Before her usual colour is applied, a Power Wash Service is recommended to remove the band. Apply Formula Strength 2 from the Light Master Power Wash chart directly to the banded area. With Beth’s hair we’ve used the formula mixed with Matrix Cream Developer 10Vol (3%) from Formula Strength 2.

Beth, like many blondes, should visit the salon more regularly. Due to leaving her colour for an extra few weeks and a change of formula with a previous visit this has left a deeper band in her hair. The regrowth of your clients hair should only be 1cm in length for perfect colour results. Is it time to re-educate your clients? Remember clients will need to expect to pay more for their services if they leave the regrowth longer!
