What is the returns policy on my scissors?
For most of our products we offer a 30 Day Returns Policy ( please see our website for full T’s & C’s) however for hygiene, health & safety reasons we cannot except any returns of Scissors, Thinners or Razors that have been used. If they have not been used and you would like to return them within our 30 day returns period, please speak to your Account Manager, Our Customer Service team or In-store on the proceedure.**
What if my Scissors are faulty?
A guarantee period if any will be specific to each brand. This might only cover defective parts, faulty workmanship and will be subject to inspection of goods. Your guarantee if any will not cover the cutting edges of scissors if they dull over a period of time, scissors must be maintained, serviced/sharpened and stored properly and not used for any other purpose than what they are intended for. Your guarantee if any does not cover any servicing or sharpening fees through your scisssors life time. It also excludes dropping or poor servicing from a third party.

T&C’s Prices: Please note all prices are correct as of November 2018 and may be subject to price increases. Account Facilities: We offer account facilities from your second order onwards subject to status. Delivery: Salon Supplies will arrange delivery of your scissors free to all UK mainland addresses excluding online orders under £50. Please note that a lot of our core scissors are not stocked in-house and will be delivered direct from the manafacturer which may take longer than your normal delivery time. VAT: All prices are net and therefore subject to VAT. **Returns: If returning un-used Scissors, Thinners or Razors within our 30 day returns policy period by post, please give Our Customer Service team a call on 0844 3356 121 on where to send these to. Please note this will be at your own expense. With any Scissor, Thinner or Razor return, if we believe your product has been used or you have breached our returns policy we reserve the right to refuse a refund and we will send these back to you.

Types of Blade Bevel The most popular: Bevel blades are straight and flat which means they cut like a guillotine. This means the hair cannot move (or be slice cut) . A bevelled edge is durable, long lasting and is the oldest blade design. The cutting edge is sharp but the angle of the blade edge allows for greater durability. Bevelled edges are generally machine made in one day.
Serrated or Micro-Serrated Ideal for Students or beginners: A serrated edge is usually put on an inexpensive scissor and is designed to cut coarse hair. It enables the user to have more control over the hair, as the serrations hold it in place when it is cut , giving you a more precise cut when you are starting out. These are also excellent for detailed work. It is usual for a student to start with a serrated edge scissor.
Convex/Convex Pro Ideal for the experienced and advanced: These are generally hand finished over a period of 2 -3 weeks so tend to be of the higher price point. This professional blade edge is the sharpest, and allows for a very crisp finish with much less effort so they are perfect for finishing. The blades are also smooth, curved and honed and the sharp convex blade also allows for more complex techniques, such as slicing.
Shapes of Blades There are also other shapes of blades available such as Concave and Sword and in some cases some scissors use a combination of types and shapes of blade all-in-one ( i.e. KATANA- Sword shape blade, Convex Pro edge and Concave shape at the back of the blades) or even a different shape or type of blade for the back side and the top side of the scissor. There are also different widths of blades and scissor sizes, thinner blades are for more detailed work and wider for more powerful cuts, smaller sized scissors i.e. 4.5’’ are normally for more detailed work and the larger the size i.e. 7’’ the more powerful the cut.

Types of Handle Straight/Classic Traditional handle design where both the finger and thumb rings line up precisely on top of each other. This is the more widely appreciated handle within the industry as it allows for a wider range of haircutting techniques.
Offset An ergonomic handle position for relaxed working where the finger and thumb rings are angled for comfort. There are also Semi-Offset and Semi-Semi Offset handles for your preference on the degree of the angle and comfort. Crane is another term used that falls into the Offset category where the finger ring is directly in line with the top of the scissor or even lower, along with Swivel Thumb which incorporates a lower moving thumb ring, which allows you to work in many different grooming positions.
Other Variations You can also come accross other variations like finger ring inserts to reduce the size of the finger and thumb holes (and these may be available in different colours), single, double or removable finger rests and left handed scissors. These options will be specific to each individual model.
