Straignt/Classic
The straight handle is a traditional design where both the finger and tumb rings align precisely on top of each other. This design is great for some hairdressing techniques such as deep point cutting as it ensures that the elbows are positioned higher.
and most commonly used in hair shear production. It is durable and and long lasting. This blade is sharp and cuts well but requires more force and pressure than convex blades although these are often easier to sharpen.
Serrated/Micro - Serrated Blade
Serrated blades are great for learning to cut hair as they prevent the hair from sliding down the blade. They’re also good for slow detail cutting or use on dry hair. It’s also great to use for scissor over comb cutting.
Offset
An Offset handle is ergonomically designed for a relaxed working position where the finger and thumb rings are angled for comfort. Depending on your preference you can choose from an Offset, Semi-Offset and Semi-Semi.
Bevel/Standard Blade
Key
A convex edge is the sharpest edge you can get on scissors. They’re perfect for any cutting technique, but excel at slide cutting, point cutting and texturising. They are fragile and applying too much thumb pressure, or storing in loose in a drawer or dropping them will knock the edge off the scissors.
Concave Blade
The Concave blade works great for a sharp cut. It has a cutting load lower than other scissors, which helps them to cut hair easily. They also work better when scissor cutting rather than comb cutting.
