It is my honor, on behalf of the Slippery Rock University community, to thank you for your contributions in the 2013-2014 fiscal year. It has been a landmark year for Slippery Rock University. In celebration of 125 years of providing a Rock Solid education, more than 6,300 alumni and friends, corporations and foundations made gifts to benefit SRU. As we commemorated Slippery Rock’s 125th Anniversary throughout the year, we honored the institution’s history and reaffirmed our commitment to fulfilling the promise of its bright future. We also recognized that the University we know today is the sum of innumerable individual contributions. Thanks to your generosity, Slippery Rock University received $3.2 million in private support – a 29% increase over 2012-2013. Charitable giving did more than just help us surpass goals. It helped Slippery Rock attract excellent faculty who embrace teaching. It improved and maintained a beautiful residential campus with state-of-the-art facilities. And it assisted students in fulfilling their dream of earning a college degree – a Slippery Rock University degree. Slippery Rock endures as an institution of quality – a public university serving the public good. This has been validated by organizations such as The Princeton Review and U.S. News andWorld Report that have named SRU as one of the “Best Universities in the Northeast,” one of the “Top 100 Regional Universities,” one of the most environmentally responsible institutions, and most recently a “College of Distinction” nationally. We have much for which we can be proud – and thankful. My thanks for making this anniversary year so successful.Your giving made all this and more possible. DRIVE FOR $1.6 million in gifts and commitments was realized for the 125th Anniversary Challenge surpassing the campaign’s $1.25 million goal
Annual Giving at Slippery Rock includes thousands of gifts from SRU’s loyal alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff, and friends.
