Celtic Woman|Believe airs Monday, August 13 at 9 p.m. Filmed at Atlanta, Georgia’s Fox Theatre with a dazzling array of visual and musical effects — Believe stars vocalists Chloë Agnew, Lisa Kelly, Lisa Lambe, and Celtic violinist Máiréad Nesbitt, performing classic Irish songs, timeless pop anthems, and inspirational songs with their signature Celtic Woman twist. During the broadcast viewers will learn more about WXXI’s exclusive ticket offer to Celtic Woman’s March 2013 concert at the Auditorium Theatre, and a special meet and greet. History of Science airs Wednesday, August 15 and 22 at 8 p.m. Every moment of every day we live in a world created by science. But the story of how we got here is much more than the simple tale of breakthroughs, genius, and men shouting ‘Eureka!’ History of Science shows how the political upheavals of history combine with iconic inventions and discoveries, along with the ideas of great thinkers, to create the advances that have transformed our lives. PBS Convention Coverage: A PBS NewsHour Special airs Monday, August 27-Thursday, August 30 at 8 p.m. Award-winning political journalists Judy Woodruff and Gwen Ifill will co-anchor gavel-to-gavel broadcast coverage from the PBS Skybox at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, FL. The Democratic National Convention will be covered in September.

Along with exciting destinations, Rick and his guests discuss general topics, as far flung as keeping healthy on the road, bicycling, sabbaticals, pilgrimages, sailing, fear of flying, and more. Travel with Rick Steves airs Saturdays at 1 p.m., and repeats Tuesdays at 9 p.m. AM 1370
1370 Connection Forums & AM 1370 Specials RISE: Climate Change and Coastal Communities Program Three: Chuey’s Story airs Sunday, August 5 at 9 p.m. Chuey’s Story, takes place in the tiny hamlet of Alviso, where Chuey Cazares’ large Chicano family faces the risk of flooding from both the creeks above and the Bay below. Restoring the shoreline to wetlands could save this town, but the solution may be bittersweet for Chuey’s family. State of the Re:Union with Al Letson: The Community of Comic Books airs Sunday, August 12 at 9 p.m. Communities across the country are weighing the merits of natural gas against the harmful effects of fracking. Natural gas is often considered a “bridge” in our transition from fossil fuels to renewables. Hydraulic fracturing, or “fracking,” uses millions of gallons of water, sand and undisclosed chemicals. The process threatens drinking water and is linked to earthquakes. Intelligence Squared joins the Aspen Ideas Festival for a debate.
State of the Re:Union with Al Letson: Tri-Cities/Walla Walla, WA airs Sunday, August 19 at 9 p.m. The Tri-Cities of Washington – Richland, Pasco and Kennewick are three cities clustered near one another in the vast plains and deserts of Washington state, to the east of the Cascade Mountains. It’s a region that seems like it would have little to attract newcomers – but over the decades, this area has drawn people from the world over. In this episode, we explore the secret history of the area, the surprising mix of residents, and what’s drawn them here. State of the Re:Union with Al Letson: Baltimore, MD airs Sunday, August 26 at 9 p.m. Baltimore is a city of many neighborhoods, of intense racial divides not easily overcome. In this episode, we tell stories of people who are working from outside the system to take on Baltimore’s problems and shepherd its promises into fruition, who are not letting their outsider status stop them for working their way in.
