Celebrating 10 Years of Community Dialogue

J A N U A R Y 2 012

For Once in My Life

This Independent Lens film takes an infectious, expectation-defying look at the inspiring Spirit of Goodwill band, a unique assembly of singers and musicians, all with a wide range of mental and physical challenges, who share an uncanny gift for music, joy, and friendship. Following the band, made up of workers at the Goodwill Industries Center in Miami, the film captures their determination, talent, and dedication.

America’s Test Kitchen Radio “America’s Test Kitchen Radio” with host Chris Kimball (pictured) debuts Sunday, January 8 on AM 1370. The series is filled with clear, practical information, without the gourmet fuss. It’s all about insights, tips and techniques that illuminate the truth about real home cooking. There will be some mystery, too, like why bad things happen to good recipes and the science behind good results. Kimball will introduce you to an eclectic collection of test cooks and food experts from the Test Kitchen, and people who come at food and cooking from unique and useful perspectives, with rich stories to tell. “America’s Test Kitchen Radio” airs Sundays at 2 p.m., beginning January 8 on AM 1370. Be sure to tune in to AM 1370 on Monday, January 2 at 1 p.m. for Capitol Steps New Year’s Day Special. We guarantee you’ll be in stitches.
