NOVEMBER 2011
Downton Abbey Marathon
Straight out of Jane Austen, updated to the era that introduced electric lights and telephones, Downton Abbey depicts the lives of the noble Crawley family and the staff who serve them. The Titanic has just gone down in the north Atlantic, taking with it the two male heirs to Downton Abbey, whose current Lord Grantham has only daughters—albeit marriageable ones. His nearest male relative is a handsome bachelor lawyer living in Manchester, who soon learns the ropes of managing a sprawling country estate, with its army of devoted, sometimes bickering servants, garden parties, and sexual intrigues. In just one afternoon you can catch all of season one of this six-time Emmy Award winner, and be prepared for season two, which premieres January 2012. Downton Abbey Marathon airs Sunday, November 27 from 3 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on WXXI-TV/HD Executive Staff Norm Silverstein, President & CEO Susan Rogers, Executive Vice President & General Manager Jeanne E.
