WHY NOT BECOME A FRIEND OF WYESIDE? As I’m sure most of you already know, Wyeside is an independently run registered charity - which means that we are a not-for-profit organisation. Therefore, any profit we make goes straight back into funding our diverse programme of over 1,500 events per year! But when it comes to financing those special projects, we need a little extra help… and that’s where our Friends come in.

Over the years money from the Friends of Wyeside scheme has helped us with many major projects including the refurbishment our Market Theatre and Gallery, the installation of 3D digital projectors and major repairs to the stonework of our historic Grade II listed building. Money from Friends of Wyeside donations is almost always used as match funding against grants, which means that donations made to Wyeside often bring in three times that amount.

We’re excited to welcome Michael Messer’s Mitra to Wyeside. These three musicians from opposite sides of the globe create an exhilarating fusion of Delta blues and Hindustani classical music. With vocals, slide guitars and tabla, they create a fascinating musical journey, running from the banks of the Mississippi, via London, to Mumbai and the Ganges Delta. Mid Powys Youth Theatre are returning for their annual show – this year they’re performing Not the End of the World - a bold theatrical adaptation of Geraldine McCaughrean’s brilliantly realised Whitbread Award winning novel. Builth Wells High School are also back this Autumn, following the incredible success of their 2014 production of Grease. This year they’re performing Into the Woods – a magical tale of love and adventure. A fairy tale where all isn’t quite what it seems…

In November we would like to invite you all to An Evening for Jon Morgan, an informal evening of music, drama and spoken word to celebrate the life of our inspirational former Director Jonathon Morgan – who died earlier this year. GIVE ME YOUR LOVE Thu 16 March: 7.30pm £12 Full (£10 Concession)*

Winner of "best international show" at the Hollywood fringe festival 2010 Burton vividly presents the life of the great Welsh actor in his own words, from humble beginnings to Hollywood mega-stardom. Beautiful women (not least Liz Taylor), alcohol, wealth, stage and screen are the threads woven into this sad, happy, exuberant, often hilarious one-man show. Drink was the only real anodyne to his deteriorating health and mental state, his doomed tempestuous relationship with Taylor and his constant guilt over the abandonment of his family. Rhodri Miles, (Game of Thrones, Eastern Promises, Atlantis) takes on the role of the younger Burton.

Theatre legends Jon Haynes and David Woods of Ridiculusmus are back with a funny, fragile and profound fable based on ground-breaking medical research and real-life war testimonies. Ex-soldier and budding rock star Zach has withdrawn into a cardboard box in a kitchen in West Wales. His friend Ieuan arrives offering recovery - in the form of a capsule containing 3,4 methylenedioxymethamphetamine with which he claims to have successfully treated his own post-traumatic stress. Parachuted into their recently fractured pasts, Zach and Ieuan swing between dreamboat heroism and woozy enlightenment via a head warping exchange on patriotism, conflict and supermarket shopping that will tickle, move and appal you in equal measure.

How much do you love your partner? How much do you trust them? And can they trust you? Mozart’s classic opera Così fan tutte puts two pairs of lovers to the test – with great music but distinctly unexpected results. For this new production, director Jan Philipp Gloger creates a richly theatrical world as the playground for this quirky comedy, where two men try to woo each other’s partners for a bet. Don Alfonso – the puppet master of this experiment – is here a theatre director who uses all the sets, props and tricks of his trade to invent new scenes to challenge the lovers’ affections.

Simon Keenlyside makes his Met role debut as the unrepentant seducer in Tony Award winner Michael Grandage’s staging of Mozart’s masterpiece.

Every day, Rachel Watson takes the train in to work in London, and passes by her old house, where her ex-husband lives with his new wife and child. When she starts watching a couple who live a few houses down she creates a dream life for them in her head. Then one day, as the train passes the couple’s house, she sees something shocking. As Rachel becomes more invested in the ensuing mystery, she finds herself asking a terrible question – could she actually be a killer?

From Dreamworks animation comes this irreverent animated comedy about the search for happiness, and just how far some will go to get it. Meet the overly optimistic Trolls, creatures with a constant dance in their step and a song on their lips, and the equally pessimistic Bergens, who are only happy when they have trolls in their stomachs. After the Bergens invade Troll Village, the ever happy Poppy and the overly-cautious Branch must set out to rescue their friends. Together, this unlikely pair must face difficulties galore – not least the struggle to tolerate each other’s company as they race to save their friends.

In this exciting, action-packed prequel to the very first Star Wars movie, an unlikely group of people must band together to help fight the evil new Galactic Empire. Jyn Erso, a criminal, is sent by the leader of the fledgling rebellion to attempt to discover the plans of the Empire’s new secret weapon. With help from the Rebels, a master swordsman and other less likely allies, Jyn will find herself facing a threat much bigger - and an enemy more terrifying - than she could possibly imagined.

The spaceship ‘Starship Avalon’ is transporting 5,259 people to a distant colony when two of its hibernation pods open prematurely, and the two people inside, Aurora (Lawrence) and Jim (Pratt), awake 90 years from their intended destination. Alone, with every luxury they could ask for, the mismatched couple fall for each other, prepared to spend the rest of their lives on the ship together. Until, that is, they discover the ship is in grave danger and the lives of more than 5000 sleeping passengers are in their hands.

Hag stones feature in some of his work, and they represent his happy memories of childhood holidays when he and his mother would spend hours searching for them along pebbled beaches.

CONCESSIONS

Times/prices are correct at the time of going to press, but are sometimes subject to changes beyond our control.

Reserved disabled parking is available on our forecourt, and wheelchair spaces are available in both auditoriums. All disabled seating is allocated on a first-come first-serve basis as these facilities are limited due to the restricted nature of our Grade 2 listed building. To guarantee admittance we strongly recommend booking in advance via our Box Office on 01982 552555. Unfortunately wheelchair spaces are not bookable online at this time.

Wyeside stands prominently on the end of Builth Wells’ famous Wye river bridge, opposite the Llewellyn mural. The centre is only 100 metres walk from the Groe public car park, which is free from 6pm. When you leave the car park, turn left, walk past the Builth bull statue and Wyeside is facing you at the top of the rise.

ONLINE 24/7 at www.wyeside.co.uk BY PHONE on 01982 552555 IN PERSON at the Box Office We accept all major credit/debit cards - there is a 50p charge per transaction. Sorry - we can no longer accept reservations. All ticket orders must be paid for when you book. Latecomers may be asked to wait for a suitable point in the performance.
