X-Men, Days of Future Past. 2D & 3D (12A) From May 22

Director: Bryan Singer. Starring: James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart. 2hr 20m. USA The ultimate X-Men team, with the original X-Men characters joining forces with their younger selves to fight an epic battle. In this time-travelling sequelprequel Wolverine is sent back by Professor X to hook up with his younger self in an effort to change the past and save the future! Confused yet? With original X-Men director Bryan Singer back in the chair and pretty much all cast members from previous incarnations returning, expect a superheroic blockbuster!

Postman Pat (U) From May 23

Director: Mike Disa. Starring: David Tennant, Jim Broadbent, Stephen Mangan, Rupert Grint. 1hr 30m. UK. This animated cartoon is ideal holiday entertainment for the young ones. Pat, the friendly local postie (along with his black and white cat!) finds his beliefs challenged by the lure of fame and fortune after he enters a TV talent show competition.

The Other Woman (12A) From May 31

Director: Nick Cassavetes. Starring: Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, Don Johnson. 1hr 50m. USA. Cameron Diaz stars in this likeable comedy as a woman who discovers that the man she's been dating is married. But when she accidentally meets Kate, the wife he’s been cheating on (Mann), she realizes they have much in common, and her sworn enemy becomes her greatest friend. When they discover yet another affair, all three women team up to plot revenge. United by their determination to teach him a lesson in fidelity they become the weirdest bunch of friends ever.

Godzilla 2D & 3D (12A) From June 6

Director: Gareth Edwards. Starring: Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston. 2hrs. USA An epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence. Starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Juliette Binoche and Sally Hawkins.

The Raid 2 (18) From June 6 Director: Gareth Evans . Starring: Iko Uwais, Yayan Ruhian, Arifin Putra. Subtitled. 2hr 30m. Indonesia | USA . Following immediately after the events of The Raid, Rama (Iko Uwais) is forced to reinvent himself as an undercover cop in order to provide protection for his wife and child. He is given a mission to engage himself as an enforcer for a local mob boss. But he harbours a dangerous and personal vendetta for revenge and justice that threatens to consume him and bring both this mission and the organised crime syndicates crashing down.

The Love Punch (12A) From June 6

Director: Joel Hopkins. Starring: Emma Thompson, Pierce Brosnan, Tuppence Middleton 1hr 35m. France. Pierce Brosnan and Emma Thompson star as a divorced duo, whose biting banter suggests the embers of their former ardour haven’t been fully extinguished. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for their retirement nest egg, which is wiped out when Richard’s investment firm is defrauded. Timothy Spall and Celia Imrie play a pair of neighbours-turned-conspirators rooting for the estranged couple’s reconciliation as they plan a heist to steal a diamond from a wedding in the beautiful Côte d’Azur.


Bad Neighbours (15) From June 6

Director: Nicholas Stoller. Starring: Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne, Zac Efron. 1hr 35. USA Seth Rogen, Lisa Kudrow and Zac Efron star in this neighbourly adult comedy. Kelly and Mac are settling down in a quiet neighborhood with their newborn child, until a couple of noisy guys – Teddy and Pete - move into the house next door. When Teddy goes back on his word to keep the partying down, Mac calls the police to deal with the problem, but the police quickly blame Mac for their presence. A war begins and things get hilariously dangerous.

Tarzan 2D & 3D (PG) From June 7

Director: Reinhard Klooss. Starring: Kellan Lutz, Robert Capron. 1hr 35m. Germany. John Greystoke, Jr. was just a toddler when he accompanied his adventurous mother and father on a journey into Africa in search of a mineral that could revolutionise the energy industry. The trip left young John the sole survivor of a tragic crash, and he was raised by a gorilla family. Nearly a decade later, he encounters beautiful Jane Porter, who returns to the jungle accompanied by smooth-talking entrepreneur William Clayton, who has ostensibly come to the jungle to support Jane’s conservationist endeavours, but he’s actually searching for the very same energy source once sought by Tarzan’s father.

Spectacularly beautiful, this is a marvellous fantasy adventure that asks what would you do if you knew for sure a flood was coming? Haunted by visions of an apocalyptic deluge, Noah builds an ark to protect his family from the waters that he is sure will destroy the world. This is an epic story of courage, sacrifice and hope, with a powerful, resonant message for our times.

Director: Frank Coraci. Starring: Adam Sandler, Drew Barrymore, Wendi McLendon-Covey. 2hrs. USA. Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore star in this new comedy. After a disastrous blind date, single parents Lauren and Jim agree on only one thing: they never want to see each other again. But when they each sign up separately for a fabulous family vacation with their kids, they are all stuck sharing a suite at a luxurious African safari resort for a week.

Edge of Tomorrow 2D & 3D (12A) From June 13 Director: Doug Liman. Starring: Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt, Bill Paxton. 1hr 55m. USA Major William Cage (Tom Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is dropped into what amounts to a suicide mission against an alien race. Though killed within minutes, Cage finds himself thrown into a time loop, forcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over. But with each battle, Cage becomes able to engage the adversaries with increasing skill, taking him one step closer to defeating the enemy.

Pompeii 2D & 3D (12A) From June 14

Director: Paul W.S. Anderson. Starring: Kit Harington, Emily Browning, Kiefer Sutherland. 1hr 45m. Germany. A stunning new action adventure set in 79 A.D., Pompeii tells the epic story of Milo, a slave turned invincible gladiator who finds himself in a race against time to save his true love Cassia, the beautiful daughter of a wealthy merchant who has been unwillingly betrothed to a corrupt Roman Senator. As Mount Vesuvius erupts in a torrent of blazing lava, Milo must fight his way out of the arena in order to save his beloved as the once magnificent Pompeii crumbles around him.

Screen adaptation of the international bestselling book about an arduous but rewarding journey across the Australian desert. In 1977, a young woman, Robyn Davidson, began a lone trek from Alice Springs through the West Australian desert on a journey of self-discovery towards the ocean. The cinematography - inspired by the original images of National Geographic photographer Rick Smolan - is breathtaking, here's a film that is a feast for the eyes.

We Are The Best! (15) From June 15 Director: Lukas Moodysson. Starring: Mira Barkhammar, Mira Grosin, Liv LeMoyne. 1hr 40m. Sweden. Subtitled. From Swedish master Lukas Moodysson, We are the Best! revolves around three girls in 1980’s Stockholm who decide to form a punk band - despite not having any instruments and being told by everyone that punk is dead. Based on a graphic novel, We are the Best! is a paean to DIY culture and the power of rebellion.

Maleficent 2D & 3D (PG) From June 20

Director: Robert Stromberg. Starring: Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning. 1hr 35m. Disney’s latest tells the Sleeping Beauty tale from a new perspective. Beautiful, pure-hearted Maleficent, has an idyllic life growing up, until an invading army threatens the harmony of her land. She rises to be a fierce protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthful betrayal and her heart begins to turn to stone. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the invading King’s successor and as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realises that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom and to Maleficent’s true happiness as well.

A Million Ways To Die In The West (15 tbc) From June 20 Director: Seth MacFarlane. Starring: Seth MacFarlane, Charlize Theron, Liam Neeson. This is a new comedy western directed by and starring Seth MacFarlane, following up his smash hit Ted. After a cowardly sheep farmer backs out of a gunfight, his fickle girlfriend (Amanda Seyfried) leaves him for another man. When a mysterious and beautiful woman (Charlize Theron) rides into town, she helps him find his courage and they begin to fall in love. But when her husband (Liam Neeson), a notorious outlaw, arrives seeking revenge, the farmer must put his newfound courage to the test.

The Two Faces of January (12A) From June 20 Director: Hossein Amini. Starring: Kirsten Dunst, Oscar Isaac, Viggo Mortensen. 1hr 35m This elegant adaptation of the Patricia Highsmith novel comes from the same stable that produced both Tinker Tailor and The Constant Gardener. It’s 1962, the charismatic Chester MacFarland (Viggo Mortensen) and his alluring younger wife Colette (Kirsten Dunst), arrive in Athens by boat. They encounter Rydal, a young, Greek-speaking American, working as a tour guide and scamming tourists on the side, he gladly accepts their invitation to dinner. However, all is not as it seems with the MacFarlands and Chester’s affable exterior hides darker secrets.

Grace of Monaco (PG) From June 20

Director: Olivier Dahan. Starring: Nicole Kidman, Tim Roth, André Penvern. 1hr 45m Philadelphia socialite, Oscar-winning actress and Princess: Hollywood star Grace Kelly was so much more than her titles and in Grace of Monaco, director Olivier Dahan (La Vie en Rose) covers six months of the iconic blonde’s life, starting when she reluctantly turns down the lead in Alfred Hitchcock’s 1964 film Marnie. Can a Princess continue to be an actress, or should she give up her passion to create a home and a family? Nicole Kidman stars in this story of Kelly’s crisis of marriage and identity, political disputes between France and Monaco, and looming invasion in the 1960s.

Director: Leanne Pooley. Starring: Chad Moffitt, Sonam Sherpa, John Wraight. 1hr. 30m. New Zealand. Mount Everest stands at over 29,000ft. In 1953, the world's highest mountain posed a fearsome challenge and had already claimed 13 lives. Against all odds, Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay finally became the first men to stand atop Everest. For the first time ever and with the support of the Hillary family, their story is brought to life on the big screen, 'relived' using both original colour footage and in stunning 3D.

Mrs. Brown’s Boys D’Movie (15 tbc) From June 27 Director: Ben Kellett. Starring: Brendan O'Carroll, Jennifer Gibney, Dermot O'Neill. Ireland Brendan O’Carroll’s hilarious big-screen adaptation of his multi-award-winning comedy phenomenon Mrs. Brown’s Boys. Agnes Brown’s livelihood is under threat from the tax man and a ruthless developer; aided by a motley troop of blind trainee Ninjas, and a barrister with an unfortunate affliction, she and her family embark on a campaign to save her market stall and her heritage. Could the Brown matriarch finally be out of her depth?

How To Train your Dragon 2, 2D & 3D (PG) From July 4 Director: Dean DeBlois. Starring: Jay Baruchel, Kristen Wiig, America Ferrera. 1hr. 45m. USA. It's been five years since Hiccup and Toothless successfully united dragons and Vikings on the island of Berk. The now inseparable pair journey through the skies, charting unmapped territories and exploring new worlds. When one of their adventures leads to the discovery of a secret inhabited ice cave, the two friends find themselves at the centre of a battle to protect the peace.

The Young & Prodigious T.S. Spivet 2D & 3D (tbc) July 11 Director: Jean-Pierre Jeunet. Starring: Helena Bonham Carter, Robert Maillet, Callum Keith Rennie. 1hr 45m. France | Canada . T.S. Spivet lives on a Montana ranch with his parents, his sister Gracie and his brother Layton. The boy is a gifted and passionate scientist, who has invented the perpetual motion machine and earned the very prestigious Baird prize from the Smithsonian Museum in Washington. Without telling his family, he journeys through the U.S. on a freight train to receive his prize. No one suspects that the lucky winner is a 10yr old with a dark secret...

Belle (12A) From July 12 Director: Amma Asante. Starring: Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Matthew Goode, Emily Watson. 1hr 45m. UK. In late 18th-century Britain, the illegitimate Dido Elizabeth Belle is born to a white British admiral and a black Caribbean slave, the admiral’s well-bred family is appalled, but custom dictates that they raise his child as an aristocrat. Belle is both a lady and an embarrassment. How is she ever to marry? Gugu Mbatha-Raw takes the title role, starring alongside Tom Wilkinson, Miranda Richardson and Emily Watson in this extraordinary true story.

Jimmy’s Hall (12A) From July 12

Director: Ken Loach. Starring: Barry Ward, Simone Kirby, Andrew Scott. 1hr 50m. UK | Ireland | France In 1921, Jimmy Gralton's sin was to build a dance hall on a rural crossroads in Ireland, where young people could come to learn, to argue, to dream... but above all to dance and have fun. Jimmy’s Hall celebrates the spirit of these free-thinkers. This Ken Loach film is set in 1932 and follows events when Jimmy returned from a decade in New York and re-opened the hall. The film is freely inspired by Jimmy’s life and turbulent times.

This is Llanelwedd’s third major production at Wyeside, following the overwhelming successes of Hoodwinked, and The Snow Queen!
