Hello everyone! First of all, a huge congratulations to all the new students on getting a place in your studies. For many students, events are an important part of their well-being alongside studying, but what are these ”appro’s” exactly? During an appro, students go around the city’s bars, collecting stamps in exchange for drinks and food purchases, of course at student-friendly prices. The more stamps you collect, the more desirable the overall badge you receive. When organizing the event, we have wanted to emphasize the option of alcohol-free alternatives, so you don’t always have to settle for soda.

What about Rannikkoapprot? Taking place on 21.9.–22.9., Rannikkoapprot is the biggest student event in Ostrobothnia, now organized for the third time. For many new students, it will be their first truly major event. During the event, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the restaurant and bar scene in Vaasa, and above all, interact with students from different fields of study, both from Vaasa and beyond. Just an Appro tour? Not at all, after that, we’ll take over Vaasa’s market square with the presence of around 3000 students, activities, and top artists. Speaking of after-parties, you’ll have a wide selection of Vaasa’s front-line nightclubs to choose from. And to ensure the fun doesn’t end too soon, for the most eager participants, the event includes a hangover brunch (Sillis) the following day. Our organizing team consists of a total of 11 amazing students from five different degrees and three different universities, not forgetting Wallitus and other helping hands. However, an event of this size cannot be organized without additional help, so stay tuned for the event staff recruitment beginning soon!
