GRADE 11 GRADE 11 REPORT

THE GRADE 11s HAVE GROWN AND TAKEN LEARNING INTO THEIR OWN HANDS AND SHOWN EVERYONE WHAT THEY ARE CAPABLE OF. What a year. Covid hit and everything changed. The start of 2020 is so far away that we forget that the Grade 11s went on camp! On the morning of 26 February 2020 excitement was in the air as we got ready to head to camp. The morning started with drumming. It is always one of the highlights for the learners. Then it’s off to Rocklands. Throughout the 2 1/2 days the learners attended workshops on Leadership, Conflict Management, Discovering Yourself, Social Media and even Mindful Meditation. Dr Wallace and Mr Burrell presented workshops on Leadership at Wynberg. Camp is not all serious. Lots of fun was had with a games evening, quiz night and outdoor activities.

After our return to school things changed for everyone. The Grade 11s had to adjust like the rest of us and they rose to the challenge. Leadership applications were done digitally for the first time. That created a new set of challenges. Even with all the obstacles, 192 Grade 11s achieved subject certificates at the end of the year. The Grade 11s have grown and taken learning into their own hands and shown everyone what they are capable of. We look forward to seeing what they are capable of as leaders of the school.
